It connects to an app on your phone where you can control the colors, brightness, speed, modes, saturation, etc. It has an adhesive backing which I used to stick it to the underside. Yeah you can get a mounting flange for under $10 and screw it into your pedal board. Stand mounts that fit around the board or whole stands are around or under $50. For $110 you can buy a pedal board with a product like this already built in.
