Phenibut just like alcohol or benzo drugs, will downregulate your Gaba receptor sites, the only difference between, Phenibut works on GabaB rather than GabaA
When you take Phenibut your Gaba (Relax) will raise, and your Glutamate (Action) will drop, this can create a sense of total Euporhia for some people especially in the ones who have a previous genetic Gaba/Glutamate imbalance.
The problem is, the more Phenibut you take, the less effective it is on Glutamate Antagonism and like alcohol, repeated high dose Phenibut use can actually cause Glutamate to rise, rather than drop, you then find yourself waking up in a morning with a Glutamate neurotransmitter activity so high, you need to take very "stupid" (your word) dose of Phenibut just to feel normal, sound familiar?

Gabapentin is a very good Gaba drug to take, coming off Phenibut but there are better alternatives If you went to see an addiction specialist, has your doctor GP given you the Gabapentin and Etizolam or have you got from other sources? dont worry im not the police lol.
If your doctor is handling your care brilliant but if not I would really go down and just explain to a GP, it is highly likely the same thing will happen again on the meds mentioned but this time with GabaA instead of GabaB, doctors have drugs which can Raise Gaba while simultaneously reduce glutamate, this is vital for keeping levels "normal" or its even possible with a couple of herbal potentiators to keep the balance slightly favouring Gaba, thus fixing your imbalance and letting you lead a normal happy life with your family.
