If you really want to get into it, a book on color theory wouldn't go amiss either. :)
That’s a tough size. I’d go for the Midori Passport . There are several different leather colors. That is just the cover.
Each Midori can hold 2-4 inserts comfortably. If she wants Weekly, I’d go for the generic weekly insert .
You can add inserts with blank note paper, yearly calendars, whatever. Get on Etsy and look up “Midori Passport” stuff and you’ll find all kinds of covers and inserts that might be more creative or work better than the official stuff.
I use the Kokuyo one and am pretty happy with it.
There’s a Dilbert 2019 Monthly/Weekly Calendar that is similar to what you had and seems to fit the bill. It’s on Amazon.
Not sure whether it has a pocket, but you can easily buy pockets that stick to your planner to cover that.
They come in black!! I got mine a while back and they’re incredible for planning. :)
