As a seller I make sure I am fully stocked and organized with all the appropriate packaging so when I do make a sale I can quickly wrap it and mail it out. I purchased all of my supplies from Amazon! I use pink tissues paper, patterned poly mailers and thank you cards from Amazon and they basically have paid for themselves. I also purchased a shelving unit from amazon that I have all my tissue and boxes and mailers stocked on to keep everything organized! I just like to have my items folded and wrapped in tissue to keep them protected and I think a thank you note is a very sweet and easy gesture. I also buy on Poshmark and am sometimes a bit grossed out when I receive an item that is not wrapped in tissue or wrapping at all and I receive it all wrinkled. I constantly order clothing online and most retailers always wrap the items inside the poly mailers, I just think of it as standard. Hope this helps!

Just a note on this- I have a similar paranoia and I have benefitted IMMENSELY from a clothing heater I got off amazon

I originally got it bc I used to travel for work and was nervous about picking anything up, and it’s great- toss the whole suitcase in, set the timer, good to go :)

Now I use it whenever I get something pre-owned from posh or from thrifting- totally worth the investment for peace of mind if you travel or frequent thrift shops :)

I bought her about a month ago. Greatly improved my pics and I'm thinking about getting one for plus sized items. My only issue is that her description says it fits items sized 5-10 but honestly, I have to pin sized M clothing or it looks like she's swimming in them. But overall I'm very happy.

This is an extreme solution, you probably wouldn't do for a one off item but if you're trying to refurb stuff that smells like smoke to sell it can pay for itself.

Purchase a shock ozone treatment device like this: Ozone Generator

Enclose in large storage container. Hole in side for power. Seal with plumbers putty. Seal lid with weather stripping gasket. Run for about 30 minutes.

Works wonders pulling smells out of about anything.

Would suggest further research before you go this route but it's a pretty effective solution.

I order the priority boxes for free from USPS.

Tissue paper and random ribbon's I've found from around the house for wrapping. Once I run out of my ribbon, I might look into my stationary supplies for random stickers/washi tape. I don't bother with thank you cards and as far as I can tell, it hasn't affected my ratings at all.

I reuse the plastic bags from online orders and stuff. Instead of throwing them away, I stash them in a drawer and pull one out when I need it. If I don't have one on hand, I'll use an old grocery bag instead.

From Amazon, not my exact items, but similar:

I use Posh pretty much exclusively to clear out my own closet so I don't have the need or space for professional set ups or anything. However I have a few high end dresses that just have NO hanger appeal at all so I bought this one from amazon for cheap. I have two doors facing each other so I'll string something between them and suspend it from that. Definitely had to get a little creative in a small rental apartment (especially since I did not want some dress form in the corner of my room creeping me out at night!) It really does depend on what you're selling. For many of the things I've purchased I find I'm happy with a stock photo to show the fit as long as item photos are included for condition

Amazon pretty much.

Stickers

tissue paper

thank you cards

poly mailers I’m debating

Edit: formatting.

Edit 2: also I’m planing on adding some boutique jewelry so I got these off eBay

If anyone knows where I could get some black damask dust bags let me know 🤣

Less valuable for Poshmark where box size constraints aren't as much of an issue but a box resizer is a quick and elegant solution for a lowish volume seller:

I've had this one for at least 5 years now and it still works flawlessly and it has been 100% accurate for me too. I think I've changed out the battery a grand total of 1 time, I lost the power cable a long time ago so it's been battery only for years.

A little tip for eBay, make sure you weight with packaging. This is mostly relevant for stuff that must ship in a box but make sure you are accounting for the weight that packaging adds, I made that mistake far too often when I started on eBay :)

Total cost above with shipping = $42.80
Consider this wire one $28 total

and this black one $36 total

I purchased this a few years ago for a different purpose. I'm ready to bust it out and use it! It's very heavy duty and has 2 rows that gives a lot more storage for just a bit more real estate.

My "perfectly smooth white background" is a white curtain that I lay on the floor. Most of the time I edit it out with photoshop [for the main photo, not the additional photos], but sometimes I leave it in. For white items I use a gray bedspread.

I suspect some people buy something like this for their wood backgrounds.

Two of these and a extention cord. White wall, black or clear hangers.

If you're trying to turn it into a side hustle you can write all this off on your taxes

I got this bench to put on my porch for when I leave packages to be picked up. The package deliverers also know how to leave my packages in there as well. It doesn’t have a lock on it and someone could just put the whole thing in their car, but at least packages aren’t out in the open.

Ohh! I really was Googling! Dunno if these are the right ones and they aren't cheap, but the camel color is available in a 9!

It does have a small tank but I have a weak upper body so it allows me to rest. Also stores well in a linen closet
