The author talks a lot about an example of a pendulum as it describes waves/vibrations - and how when a pendulum swings, there is a moment of stillness when it reaches one apex, then swings back the other way. The shorter the swings of the pendulum become between the moments of stillness, the higher a frequency is represented, until...finally, the moments of stillness overlap and an infinitely high frequency is attained. So, paradoxically, stillness == infinitely high vibration. I'm not doing the book justice but this is one of the ideas therein that really stuck with me over the years. In my experience, the best two places to start. I personally have read the Bhagavad Gita over 11 times; whenever I finish it, I start it again. It fills me with a quality of energy that is indescribable. Huxley's book is a treasure trove (super well-researched, too) of the type of thinking found in The Power of Now.
Awesome post! Would you argue it's more valuable for an individual to avoid ideological adherence altogether? Or better to simply 'tend to their memetic garden' and root out undesirable foliage?
