I got this for my husband at the beginning of the summer because he got season passes for he and my daughter to a water park.
It's waterproof but one side is mesh so it airs out and doesn't trap moisture. It also has a waterproof pocket for things like your phone and keys and the bottom zips open for an insulated compartment. We both used it all summer and it is very durable.

General bag quality will be the real indication here. Does the interior pictured on Amazon match the interior that you have? Also, take a look at the zipper pulls and general zipper quality. My Kate Spade bag has teeny tiny Spade logos on little emblems on zippers. Just check for tiny, well done details. How does the zipper zip? Smooth?
How does the leather smell? Does it feel cheap and flimsy? It you paid less than $100 and it feels fake, it probably is.
From what I can tell in the photo, the stitching looks nice. If you brought from a reputable eBay seller and your item matches the photos in links above, you're probably good.
