Get a case apparently the glass back is pretty sensitive. The official cases won't protect against high falls and I actually damaged my Razer Phone 1 with an official case.
I use this one, and have dropped my phone in it and it held well. Gets a bit dirty cause of the groves but easy to clean.

Spigen Liquid Air Armor Designed for Razer Phone 2 Case (2018) - Matte Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JN6V3K5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_w6jTCbBFAA2CS

Only issue with this case and some others is that some Razer phone 2 screen protectors are too big and don't fit well with cases. I just buy Razer phone 1 screen protectors now and they fit but with bigger margins (but still bigger than the actual screen)

I also got a dbrand skin and only put the camera portion on because apparently that portion scratches easily too.

I definitely always carry a power bank, and the phone charges fast.

Chroma is awesome, but is sometimes a little glitchy and will turn on when not supposed to and drain battery. Started happening last update so I'm sure it'll be fixed.

Installing an SD card may be hit or miss, I don't have recommendations, but the faster the better. The one I installed caused hiccups when running apps so make sure you get a good one.

Dolby Atmos Bass Boost settings cause crackling in audio. Play around with the settings. Some updates they fix the crackling, and then some updates they bring it back haha.

Camera is apparently good with GCam, but I haven't tried it myself.

Use Cortex to change your performance for games, and don't forget to change back to power saver mode in Cortex when you're done.

Have fun with your phone!!

I wasn't a fan of the ones on the Razer website either, but I checked Amazon and found one that I love.

https://www.amazon.com/TUDIA-Razer-Extreme-Protection-Rugged/dp/B07K73P7NX

I personally would never go caseless, especially on a phone that's glass on both sides, but I'm not you. 🤷‍♂️ Best of luck

u/cybertec69 · 2 pointsr/razerphone

I got this case, it's fantastic. It fits the phone like a glove, is slim "not bulky or cheesy looking" looks great, and feels nice in the hand.

I bought this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0785P9MVS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
because I couldn't wait for Spigen to release theirs and I genuinely can't fault it in anyway. Perfect fit, slightly ribbed on the bottom grip for my pleasure haha and it doesn't bulk it out, yet not sacrificing protection.

I had an Orzly one beforehand and you couldn't even fit the cable in the USB-C without forcing it. Terrible design.

u/adamtheadamtheadam · 2 pointsr/razerphone

The only 2 cases that are good enough for protection are probably Spigen Liquid Air and the one from Tudia.

https://www.amazon.com/TUDIA-Razer-Extreme-Protection-Rugged/dp/B07K73P7NX

https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Liquid-Razer-Phone-Matte/dp/B07JN6V3K5

From reviews I've seen, both provide solid protection. Tudia is slightly better but bulkier. So I guess I'll recommend the Spigen. Using it myself too, I'd say it's a nice balance between protection and sleekness!

u/4x4Mimo · 2 pointsr/razerphone

Didn't have a chance to take a picture of the fit yet, but here's the screen protector I have with the Spigen case and it fits perfectly.

I have and love my razer phone. If I didn't have it already however, I would think about the ROG. That's the one with all the peripherals, right? It seems they're setting up for a future with this.

Razer was good to start the trend of higher refresh rates but, as you can find in this subreddit with slow software updates, many users feel abandoned. As if these phones were a gimmick to get ahead in sales and now that that's done, move on to the next sale gimmick. Like when I ordered a new screen protector from Razer (and a controller for my phone), it came with caffeinated water flavor packets that apparently they make now, for gaming.

Anyway, I've been researching here the past little bit. Phones that can use real styluses have to be built for that. Most Android phones aren't and you need a large surface area so the phone registers it as a finger. So those styluses with the big rounded tip are what you need, or the ones with a smaller tip surrounded by a clear disk.

Yes ineed, I have both the Razer one and this one here -- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D2CWBS1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Both work just fine, the one linked you just have to make sure to place it right and you're a-ok.

u/GTstang00 · 3 pointsr/razerphone

I have this case and it just made it through a 5' fall onto ceramic tile last night. Very happy with it so far and like it because of the rubber that surrounds the phone.

I've got a Tudia Merge, but it does NOT work with wireless charging. Here's what I own:

Merge: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K73P7NX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Anker Wireless Charger: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DBXZZN3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Choetech Wireless Car Charger: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HQDHV49/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The Anker works fine when I remove the case. So does the Choetech, but it has to grip the phone at a weird height to start charging. That makes both of them pretty much useless to me.

I like the Tudia case. I'll take protection over wireless charging any day. But those chargers above don't work with it, at all.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07LFBCVTY/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_1?smid=A32MXCUMEJ42JI&psc=1 Just in case anyone else was interested. This is the only one I found that specifically lists the rp2 in the description, and it works. I can use my headphones and it charges rapidly at the same time. And the sound quality is perfect.

u/psyborx · 1 pointr/razerphone

I bought a similar one and it works great:

AirsFish Usb C to 3.5mm Audio Adapter Usb C PD Charge Splitter 2 in 1 Type C to 3.5mm Aux Stereo Earphone Headset Headphone Fast Charging Compatible with Pixel 2/2XL 3/3XL Razer Phone 2 iPad Pro 2018 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07LFBCVTY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_7jMmDbR5FQQ02

The Anker Powerwave Stand does work, assuming you don't have a case on your phone. Unfortunately, I have the Tudia case on my RP2 which added just enough additional bulk to raise the phone out of range for the coil to work consistently when the phone was upright. At best, I'd have to keep the phone in landscape and center the stand behind the bottom half of the phone (which usually meant propping up the top half of the phone with someone so it sat leveled on the stand).

I decided to scrap the stand and get a few Anker Powerwave Pads at home and keep an Anker Powerwave 7.5 Pad at work (to charge rapidly). While the placement still requires centering the pad on the bottom half of the phone, the pads all work great... and I can still use my Tudia case!

I don’t have it yet but this one seems good

I picked up Jaybird X3 on clearance at Target. They put out pretty good isolated sound in my opinion, but I'm no audiophile. They hold a connection much better than the Beats I had previously. I have used them for over an hour at a time while mowing the yard and they still had at least 20% left.

u/ArtJDM · 1 pointr/razerphone

Yeah, usb-c audio really needs to be standardized. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is the one I bought when I had the RP1. Works with my RP2 too. Did you buy a really cheap one that looks like a normal splitter?

u/eatmytuna · 1 pointr/razerphone

Yes. I use a USB c hub off Amazon. It adds a regular usb port, HDMI port, and another usb c port for pass through charging.

I have this one and the Choetech t513, the t513 is easier to get to charge, but is also $20. Both charge fine, just the smaller charger seems to be pickier on alignment.

I can confirm this one works.

AirsFish USB C to 3.5mm Audio... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07LFBCVTY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Seems to have good audio also.

Personally I like the Tudia Merge cases because it's a mix of soft and hard shell cases, almost like an OtterBox and it's got a special cut out for the back logo

TUDIA Razer Phone 2 Case, [Merge Series] Dual Layer Heavy Duty Extreme Drop Protection/Rugged Phone Case for Razer Phone 2 [2018] (Matte Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K73P7NX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_DTzNDbBYTG49P

u/invento123 · 1 pointr/razerphone

I never use wired headphones anymore as wireless are so much easier and better but I would put money on the USB-C to 3.5mm jack adapter is just going bad. I'd recommend getting a new quality adapter and see if that fixes it.

EDIT: Something like this actual Google one

I'd recommend the [Spigen Liquid Air Armor Designed for Razer Phone 2 Case] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JN6V3K5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ycIGDb8TABKWY)

u/Small1324 · 1 pointr/razerphone

No, it was that the port got so wide that it couldn't do USB charging anymore. I don't think the screws would come off.

A couple of janks in the wrong directions. The USB-C port wasn't quite well designed to last. I've taken apart my own Alienware laptop and the TB3 port on the back has a pretty beefy metal bar that screws in to prevent the port from moving around. Based on those inferences I think it's just cause I plugged things into it (like my headphones) often enough to the point that it just wouldn't charge.

I have a Volta magnetic disconnect cable now to prevent my mechanical keyboard, which also uses an unprotected USB-C cable, from having its port snapped off if it gets yanked, as has happened in the past (I managed to solder it back on the first time). I'm currently just using an Anker cable but at some point I'll get more magnetic USB heads and I'll be able to protect my phone port as well.

There's also a different solution to the unprotected port problem, which is to get a wireless charging adapter like that one (has a lot of reviews) which is Qi compatible, but I can't be sure of its charge speed, especially when charging up the beefy battery.

u/ChappyBirthday · 1 pointr/razerphone

Mine works with this USB C to A cable and the USB C to A cable that came with this power bank. That's all I've tried it with.

The cases with the most protection that I've seen are the Spigen Case and the TUDIA Case. Both aren't as heavy duty as an Otterbox case though. I think the phone is too niche for Otterbox to make a case for it.

u/AbsoluteContingency · 3 pointsr/razerphone

I have spent a LOT of money on just about every available Razer Phone 2 case. This is the one you want if you're like me and hate the Tudia triangle.

No prob: Amazon Link

Official name (i think): google usb type c to 3.5mm headphone adapter

u/piciupitik · 2 pointsr/razerphone

I really feel bad for you... a type c from laptop still counts for quick charge 4.0+. I almost never used the power brick; oh and the transfer speeds are ridiculous. Keep that in mind when you will buy your next laptop.
