For example:
The copy of the Shining I bought that had this cover started to deteriorate very easily while I read it.

I do like the larger print like you mentioned. And the cover art is often more aesthetically pleasing for sure.

These editions (that I posted a reference to) all had the same layout. I liked that in general for some reason. Even though the art wasn’t nearly as nice maybe.

It's a pretty great book. I used it to remind myself of things while my best friend read the series for the first time.

That's a great haul. I would actually rather get the BCE for those early novels so that they are taller and match my other books. Carrie, Shining and SL are actually the only books I dont have with the original cover since I have them collected in this hardcover collection: https://www.amazon.com/Stephen-King-Complete-Novels-Shining/dp/0517219026

Find the Bachman Books 4-novella collection at your library or used from Amazon or another used books source. The Running Man's in there as well and I've always enjoyed that one.

But you should also know that if you go on Amazon and pick the Stand, you can find an extremely discounted version of a nice hardcover. It’s usually $50, now $11. Here it is: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0385199570/ref=tmm_hrd_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1538950413&sr=8-1

Let's get some things straight.
It's not just book 1, 2 and 3.
If you look at Product Details is states that it has 4720 pages.

These covers also seem to be new. Not movie tie-in either. Im guessing this based on my new find.l
I've found covers for books 2, 3 and 4 on amazon which wi be released December 27. The letters of SK's name seem to be in line with the new SK covers from Simon and Schuster. The release date is also very close to the boxset.
The Gunslinger is on amazon as well, but without a cover. Books 4.5 - 7 I didnt find.

After finishing Heart of Darkness, I immediately picked up a copy of King Leopold's Ghost, a history of Belgian colonialism in the Congo. Really puts things in perspective.

Try this one, it's what I have and what came to mind when I read your description (much better than Stephen King Goes To The Movies).

Pick up "The Fireman," and every other book Joe Hill has done.

That should help fill the vacuum.

https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1501182099 > Released July 11. Apperently it's a hardcover. Possibly will have the movie poster as it's cover.

For info, that novella was already published as a stand alone, but abridged, with 7 illustrations by Penguin Readers

I'm going to throw a couple of non-King books out there that are good Halloween reads....... Clive Barker Books of Blood........Amazing short stories......

House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski

And someone I know probably no one here has heard about...... Scott Sigler....... He's an amazing horror author.... Start with infected..... It's not for the squeamish lol https://www.amazon.com/Infected-Novel-Scott-Sigler/dp/030740630X

One of the guys writing about him on amazon said this about it...... "Part Stephen King, part Chuck Palahniuk, Infected blends science fiction and horror into a pulpy masterpiece of action, terror, and suspense.  Three recommendations: don't read it at night, or just after you've eaten a full meal, or if you're weak of heart.  You've been warned!"

I just bought this set, but it's really expensive now. The books aren't too tall, pretty much standard sized paperbacks. Dimensions are 14 x 20.1 x 13.2 cm
