Dude, console servers are your friend.

EDIT: Something like this can save you a headache and a car ride on the off chance you completely screw your installation.

listen to me very carefully, been a contract programmer for years.

two points:

1 - if you don't know something, be up front about it. "I have related experience in XYZ, I've never worked directly with ABC but am happy to figure it out."

2 - never put yourself in the situation where you can be "pushed" like this. part of professionalism in coding is being able to push back. "No, I'm sorry and I know you need this, but it's going to be another 6 weeks." You are already working at 100%. I guarantee you your work has suffered by working too hard and too long. it is not possible to work at a level greater than 100%. If you put in more time, the work quality will suffer. Part of doing the job well is knowing when and how to push back. The customer generally doesn't know how to code. That's why they hired you. So part of your job is to educate them. And if something's going to take 10 weeks, don't promise it to them in 8, and don't let them come away thinking they can then push you into 5.

It's a few hundred depending on the model, but I would spend $60+ a month on ink so it was worth it to me.

Here's the model I have:

And my bad, it's $18 for black + all three colors:
