The Grider cut is one of my favorites on it, but do yourself a big, BIG favor and buy that whole album as opposed to that one song. It is absolutely excellent, with only a couple of songs I didn't like as much as the rest, on track to be one of my two favorite music purchases of this year (it actually came out in 2009, though). I actually bought it for Cody Canada's cover of "Shades of Gray" and was floored at how good the rest of it was. Considering that the list of artists on it was pretty much a who's who of Texas & Red Dirt music, though, I shouldn't have been surprised.

From what I remember, artists usually put out a book of their albums, or their hits. Something like this.
As far as singing and playing, you could easily look up how to play a G, Em, C and D chord on piano and then play along and sing with a chart like this
After a bit, take a chart like this and copy and paste the tab part (6 lines of numbers) into that 8notes.com program and you can get that little riff that you hear in that song. Just copy and paste in the new tab section, create score and midi file, then click the sheet music tab. It's quite simple and accurate (and free!)
Any questions as you go, feel free to pm me.
Albums I've seen this year
Texas Outlaws
Here's the link to the album. Some other highlights-
Roger Creager doing Guitar Town and Kevin Fowler doing Im the only hell my mama ever raised. Also has Cooder Graw and Jack Ingram covering different Waylon songs. Gotta love that.
Amen on Max Stalling. I've been wanting to see him live for a while now.
I like Lost Immigrants' 2009 live record "Baptized by Texas," which was recorded at Greene Hall and Lukenbach, but I'm biased. https://www.amazon.com/Baptized-Live-Country-Lost-Immigrants/dp/B0026OFQPW
