Hey guys, I really love this subreddit, since we are so passionate about such an amazing game. I started a little trinket collection from The Last of Us. Most stuff is from Ellie's bookbag. Here are the links for the trinkets.

  1. Knife
  2. Hazmat Pin
  3. Uncle Sam Pin
  4. Ellie's Keychain
  5. Aviator Wings
  6. Soundtrack
  7. Flashlight

    Extra Stuff

  8. Joel's Bookbag
  9. Ellie's Bookbag
  10. Ellie's Shirt

I still have to pick up the art book and strategy guide, but I'm not really in a rush to do that. I know some of the things are not exact replica's but I'm just trying to get the stuff to look similar to the items in the game. I provided links I used in case anyone wants to buy a pin, a knife or all the items. Also, for Ellie's third pin I used this pin because I can't identify what it says. It's like "Love this...", if anyone knows please leave me a comment. I looked at the game and the statue and can not read what it says. Thanks a lot!

Like you said, it doesn't look like the greatest watch and is way overpriced for what it is. I suspect you might get a similar quality watch or even better by getting parts yourself.

If anyone is interested in doing this, I took the liberty of finding a few watches with faces that look somewhat like Joel's, especially the first which is probably perfect.

Lastly, just buy the green NATO strap separate and you should be good. This one is cheap and comes with a tool.

Band

None are exact, but considering most don't like the cartoonish look of the official one, I think there's some personal choice. Hope this helps everyone!

Don't for get to get a TL-/122 angle head flashlight. I got mine at the army surplus store for about 6 dollars takes D cells like this one amazon its better and brighter than the AA version and waterproof. and they can be tied on the strap just like Joel's as long as I had this flashlight I never though to do that.

Yes she's playing an acoustic guitar. If you're looking to buy one I started with this cheap one and it sounds good to me. Good starting point I think

I'm pretty sure he picked one of these books up at the bookstore in Pittsburgh when Ellie wasn't lookin'! =)

And, I'm fairly certain that she caused him to consult it frequently in the beginning of their relationship! ;-)

[This book inspired a lot of the world of The Last of Us. It's a great read.] (http://www.amazon.com/The-World-Without-Alan-Weisman/dp/0312427905)

Hm, so with a clear view of the face like that, it's kind of hard to tell what color the face is, it could be any sort of grey/black/blue or even green. It also looks like there are visible numbers at 12, 3, 6, 9, and it has chronograph circle inside on the south position (I assume that's what that is, right? A circle within a watch?) However the case doesn't have chronograph control buttons, but that could just be an oversight on the artists part. I think this watch in particular is pretty similar, it has a south side chronograph circle and the same number markings, also it's a rather wide watch at 42mm case and 22mm band. Thoughts?

To each their own. :)

I've had my fill of zombie but love the "something fucking bad happened" to society genre.

There aren't any zombies in it but you might enjoy reading The Windup Girl.

This one is a little spendy but it looks pretty similar other than the fact that the watch face might have a bit of a green tint to it. http://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SNK805-Automatic-Green-Canvas/dp/B000LTAY1U/ref=pd_sbs_watch_2

Yeah, this is definitely more of a collectors thing. I'm thinking about grabbing one of these. And then for the ones I like a couple of these. Of coarse that will triple the price so I might not go that far. Still it will be the kind of thing where most posters will wind up still in the box.

He's right. They make flashlights that you can shake (or crank) to charge them. Much more convenient than batteries in some scenarios. See here.

PSN has ALWAYS had errors when adding funds or using credit cards. I've had the same card, with the same info on there for years and it works sometimes, and sometimes the info is suddenly incorrect. It got so damn annoying that I stopped buying shit. Until someone on the ps3 subreddit mentioned you can buy cards to add to your wallet instantly on amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Playstation-Network-Card-Online/dp/B004RMK4BC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1371323321&sr=8-1&keywords=psn+card

You get the code as soon as you check out. It's awesome not having to deal with the psn annoying stupid errors.

Yeah, this is the shirt I got. Here's the bag I will be using. I got it in tan, and snagged the last one. I will definitely use that more than just for the costume and it's not an exact match, but it will work for a Halloween costume. I've already got a beard, but I need to dye it since I have brown/blonde hair. Here is the gas mask. Here is the flashlight I will be using. I'll stop by lowes and get some lumber and make the stick melee weapon and I might order a blue gun since I already have a holster. This will be my first attempt at a cosplay, so I don't have to nail it.

I generally don't like it when people are grammar Nazis, but maybe English isn't your first language so... You are using "there", which means a location. What you mean to say is "their", which implies ownership. It's one of the dumbest, most confusing things in English... but then again, it's a language full of dumb and confusing things.

Although, Bill Bryson makes a good case for English's seemingly random nature as being the reason it so influential.
