IMHO The book is great. It's a really nice addition, and I think it doesn't matter how much of the TV show you've watched, or the comic books you've read.

I mean, as long as you're aware that The Governor is a character, there isn't really any spoilers. It's just his backstory.

After reading for around 30 minutes - 1 hour (depending on reading skill of course haha) You'll realise how brilliantly Robert Kirkman can describe zombies getting punished in various ways, with excellent attention to detail describing noises, and specific parts of the body taking damage from a fight.

Also, Jay Bonansinga (a very excellent thriller writer) Collaborated on this book, helping out with the action scenes and sharing credit for what I think is a great book, with lots of nods of the head to other characters/events in TWD Universe.

I might also add, my girlfriend read this, having previously seen only a few clips from the show and reading none of the comics, and she thoroughly enjoyed it as well.

If you enjoy it, there's a sequel coming very soon as well! -

Here is a little written guide on how you can tackle this yourself at home. Let me know if you have any questions.

Here’s what you will need-

•1 Black/red spandex glove
•~1 Pint Liquid mask latex
•2” thick styrofoam sheet, you only need about 4”x14”, plus a knife/rasp for carving.
•Acrylic paint- Black, Red, Brown, Green, yellow, fleshtone
•tin foil
•vinyl gloves
•rice/beans/airsoft BBs to fill glove for painting.
•sand for texture
•tissues
•Spray paint- black, brown
•gloves for fake hand
•jacket

First I took a long spandex glove I had lying around (you can buy arm length spandex gloves, Black is ideal,) and cut a 2”x1” hole in the wrist just below the palm that my real hand slips into. If you mess up, just turn the other glove inside out and use that one. Then I carved the zombie forearm out of foam, keeping it really skinny and emphasizing the muscle shape. Then it goes into the back of the spandex glove up to where it touches your real wrist, with pins stuck into the foam to keep it in place and shape the fabric. Wrinkles are good here, you want a loose skin/vein look. I filled a vinyl glove with some air soft bbs and stuffed that into the hand temporarily while I painted it. Then I used a ton of liquid latex to paint it. You can get a gallon of mask latex for about $20 online but you’ll probably only need a pint or so. Hobby lobby sells a bottle in the model train section but it’s a little more pricey. Make sure you wear paint clothes or an apron when working with Latex. It’s messy stuff and will ruin your clothes/carpet. I put some tin foil down on my counter, and while painting the arm itself I mixed latex into some tissues for skin muscle/skin texture pieces to add after they dried. You can mix normal acrylic/tempra paint into liquid latex to make different colors. Keep in mind it usually dries a lot darker than when it is wet, so don’t make the colors too dark. I started by painting the arm entirely black, then added red, green, and rotten flesh color. I add the tissue and latex pieces between colors to add texture to each. I sprinkled some sand on the wet latex and it gave it a really gnarly gross texture. Then I carved a foam radius and ulna bone and stuck them on the back with toothpicks and coated them with white glue to strengthen them. Then I added more latex on top to make them look like they go up into the arm. Then I glued a dangly bit of latex as a snapped tendon. I flicked some dark red acrylic paint on for some blood splatter in logical spots like the severed part of the arm and palm. I used a glossy latex-based spray for the exposed flesh parts to break up the flat texture latex usually has. You could also buy a bottle of GO2 brand glue and paint that on, it dries clear, glossy, and flexible in 20 mins. I cut a template for the tire tread mark and taped it around the zombie wrist in a logical spot, and just misted some black primer on top of that. Finally I misted some brown/black spray paint on to make it look dirty/burnt. Go light on it at first, you can always add more, it’s harder to subtract. Once everything was dry, I unclamped the vinyl glove filled with bbs and let those drain out through the hole in the wrist. This makes the glove shrink and wrinkle and also makes the vinyl glove easy to peel out of there.

Also it’s hard to see, but I added a cheap gold wrist watch from Walmart that I grimed/bloodied up with latex (which should clean off fairly easily as long as it doesn’t soak in too much) I put the watch up above the fake hand, but now I’ve realized the best spot for it is down on the forearm like it slid down the thin wrist. Think of details like that you can add that sell the effect/tell a bit of a story.

Then the fake hand/glove around the wrist is just stuffed with some tin foil that I shaped like my hand. Tin foil is good because you can bend and shape it. Then you shape the tin foil in the back of the hand so that it blends into your wrist. I just used two Velcro cable ties to keep it on my wrist, and put a safety pin through the Velcro, glove, and tin foil to keep them all together. Make sure you put your jacket on BEFORE you put the zombie arm glove on. Then throw together a gross walking dead/ apocalypse look at a thrift store, add some cheap air soft guns and your melee weapon of choice, and you are done!

Overall a pretty easy project when you have spandex gloves and buckets of liquid latex lying around.

Here is a pic of the paint drying to give you a better look (my glove had no thumb/finger tips so I had to blend my real fingers in with makeup. I suggest you just make a full glove, then you can take it on and off whenever.)

The most cost effective way to get into the comics is through buying the compendiums. There are currently 3 available and they will take you up to issue #144.

Digital or physical is completely your call. Personally, I love digital. They download automatically and I don't have to go to my comic shop. On the other hand, I love shelf porn. So it's kind of up to the individual. Physical copies of the compendiums are available from Amazon for $38 each.

For digital versions:

iBooks

Amazon

Comixology

See the FAQ for more information. Issue #162 comes out in January (we need to update the FAQ but it'll still give you most of the information that you need to get caught up).

After the compendiums, get Vol. 25(#145-150) and Vol. 26 (#151-156). Vol. 27 (#157-162) will be available on March 17th. Depending on how fast you read them, you might want to purchase both of the individual issues that come out in February(#163 & #164) and the single issue in March (#165). This will have you totally up to date by the time Volume 27 comes out on 3/17/17, and you'll have issues #163, #164, & #165 to be completely caught up by 3/17/17.

When you get caught up, you can subscribe to receive automatic downloads through iBooks or Comixology for digital versions, or you can search for a local comic shop here if you want to pick up physical versions.

The cheapest legal way to read them is by purchasing Compendium One, Two and Three. That's the first 144 issues. Probably best to start with just Compendium One to ensure you like them.

*Edit: The Comics FAQ can probably answer any additional questions you may have.

In that case, I think everyone who wants to write a zombie flick should have Max Brooks' The Zombie Survival Guide as mandatory reading to ensure continuity regarding the capabilities of zombies in future movies. Love that book - it makes me question what the writers were thinking whenever I see a zombie doing something out of the ordinary.

Yeah, link. Their Daryl and Rick 10" figures look good as well. I think this might be a new process they have of using 3d scanners and printers for these models and it's phenomenal.

Agreed. Not into the double barred front. Why? I have no idea, but Amazon reviews agree with us: http://www.amazon.com/Stryker-Strykezone-380-Crossbow-Package/product-reviews/B0052B3OSW

Based on this list from Amazon, the previous episodes ran for 44 minutes, leaving 16 minutes for commercials, and this episode ran for 65 minutes, leaving 25 minutes for commercials.

So it's really only about 9 minutes of extra commercials. What's more, it's in almost the exact same proportion. They boosted the time slot by 50% from 60 to 90 minutes, and in doing so, they boosted the episode time by 50% and the commercial time by 50%.

There is a reason why the bat is named Lucille. Here's Negan! spoilers below. [](/c "It's named after Negan's late wife, Lucille. She died very early on in the apocalypse and he found the bat and wrapped it in barbed wire shortly after her death. Thus bringing us Lucille, the bat.") Source: Here's Negan!
