This is exactly what you are NOT looking for but I'll say it anyway... just to hear myself talk:

I just bought a Whetstone from amazon and am amazed how easy it is with the right equipment. I was using a diamond stone and gave up. This was cheap and I get a perfect edge in minutes. The edge lasts longer than using the diamond. Don't forget to use a steel everytime you use the knife anyway.

Thanks for sharing this!

In a similar vein, this book talks specifically about the Republican plan to control all state legislatures through systematic redistricting starting in 2008. They've been immensely successful in their plan, called REDMAP. (yes - REDMAP - Redistricting Majority Project)

The Amazon excerpts of the introduction give a good sense of the book, then a state by state breakdown of their actions starting in 2008. Wake County libraries have this book - I'd recommend it.

Exercise and sunlight can work wonders! (And Vitamin D if you can't get outside.)

OP, you may want to check out 'The Mood Cure' by Julia Ross. Excellent advice regarding neurotransmitter imbalances and how these can be corrected through diet and simple amino acid supplements. Sometimes it really is just about chemistry.

Good luck!

The only way I know to do an external GPU is through a thunderbolt 3 connector which I have not yet seen built in to a desktop motherboard. You would need something like this to get the thunderbolt 3 port and then something like this to plug into it. I assume you have a full ATX motherboard and not a micro ATX. A case like this one would probably be a good option and keep your GPU internal. Cases that size always have some restrictions though like GPU height and CPU cooler height.

This is not something with me and my friends- I doubt I will know more than 10 people there. We are not protesting the NYPD, we are protesting how police are used in this country.

My first introduction was through this book http://www.amazon.com/Lockdown-America-Police-Prisons-Crisis/dp/1844672492
I figure it's still a good start and talks about the police here in NC too. For a better understanding of social movements and strategy I would check out http://www.amazon.com/Ive-Got-Light-Freedom-Mississippi/dp/0520251768/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1417723926&sr=1-1&keywords=I%27ve+got+the+light+of+freedom.

It seems like you don't care if protest is effective, you just don't want to have to deal with it?

Seconding Fred's Beds, I got mine from there and it was good.

Alternatively, a friend got this mattress (http://www.amazon.com/Sleep-Innovations-SureTemp-Mattress-Warranty/dp/B003CT37L0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1367893010&sr=8-1&keywords=foam+mattress) from amazon and she really likes it. I think it's weird to buy a mattress before trying it, but her argument was 5 minutes of sitting on a mattress in the store vs hundreds of amazon reviews may give the amazon reviews an advantage over a quick judgement in a store. So maybe try online too?

I went to Best Buy about 10 years ago, and bo9ught every blender they had, and had a test of which could crush ice. Then I brought back all the others. :)

Right now, I would get this one.

I'd recommend getting a bellows duster for diatomaceous earth. You don't want to breath it in and it is very hard to clean up off of rough surfaces like brick.

Basically, he's saying to buy some ethernet testers ( http://www.amazon.com/HDE-HDE-H11-Network-Cable-Tester/dp/B000P1OA1O/ref=pd_cp_pc_0 ) and plug one end into the wall in one room, and go around the house testing all the other outlets to see where that outlet is connected. If you're never able to get a connection from one port to another, you likely have a cable problem and would need to have it re-run. Otherwise, you may have great cabling but just need to know how it's laid out.

As far as the coax, it appears to be possible, based on a quick google search, but looks like it might be a bit of work.

You want a VHF/UHF designed antenna. WTVD/ABC is on VHF-Hi. Most leaf/flat style antennas aren't designed for VHF. Use TV Fool to determine your optimal direction. The optimal location indoors will be in a window. Post you TV Fool report to /r/OTA if you have further questions.

VHF/UHF designed antennas:

  • rabbit ears + loop (RCA ANT111F or amplified RCA310F)
  • Winegard FlatWave (Home Depot, amplified version available online)
  • Winegard FreeVision (Home Depot)
  • Winegard HD-1080/Xtreme Signal HD1080x
  • Channel Master STEALTHtenna
  • RCA ANT751
  • Winegard HD7000R
  • 1byone OUS00-0557
  • GE Pro Outdoor Yagi Antenna (Walmart)
  • Antennas Direct Element
  • Winegard HD7694P
  • Winegard HD7698P
  • Distribution amplifier
  • Optional preamp: Winegard LNA-100 (indoor), LNA-200, or RCATVPRAMP1R (outdoor)

Be careful using an amplified antenna when you have strong signals (>50NM dB) or using an outdoor antenna. An amplified signal could overload your TV's tuner and cause reception issues. Unfortunately trial and error may be required at some locations.

See this post for more information on connecting an antenna using existing unused coax cables and sharing a single indoor/outdoor/attic antenna between multiple TVs/DVRs. The same applies to satellite coax cable runs or sharing an antenna in another room. Only difference is where you're mounting/connecting your antenna. This is something you can do yourself if the cables are within easy reach, but you can also hire a satellite installer who is willing to install antennas.

I've got 35c studded tires - they worked OK for me. I didn't fall, although it felt kind of sketchy at times.

Big thing is traffic. Very few cars were out and about. When I did get near one I just pulled over, since I don't trust drivers on this stuff. That car at the light is the only one I saw moving on the road for like 5 minutes.

I saw a guy out there with a fat bike, he was killing it. But I can't see buying a fat bike to ride in the like 2 days a year we get snow.

All I have is the TG1672 That was provided when TWC installed. Should I also get a router?

Everything had been going well until last week or so. It is bizarre.

I have a new in the box All American double capacity 930 pressure canner and Eastman Outdoor Cooking set , also new in the box, (ie. Outdoor LP burner to fire the oversized pressure canner on, plus fish/turkey cooker pots) + (3) cases of (12) new quart jars, (1) case (12) pint jars, lids, blocks of wax, book Complete Book of Home Preserving, possibly other related books and a box of previously used canning jars. If needed, I could throw in a used LP replacement tank for an extra $25. I'm thinking $300 for everything less LP tank or $325 for everything plus LP tank delivered in Orange or Durham counties. PM me email address, and I'll attempt to send photos.
