Anyone worth their mettle in religion understands the Bible has been largely exaggerated, and people who take the bible absolutely LITERALLY are the Fake-Catholics/Christians I am talking about.

We know the Bible was pretty much curated during the council of Nicaea in 325 A.D - where due to the impending collapse of the roman empire, Italy HAD TO be converted into Catholicism, or face absolute fucking Anarchy.

So any/all accounts of God/Jesus were erased, and now we have the Divine, hence why from 12-25 years of Jesus's life are missing, and when/why all religious holidays are decided, how to pray, etc.

Also, the Church was incredibly corrupt back in the day, controlling most of the World's currency, and Fate of entire countries.

The Modern Catholic, very much differs with the whole "concept" of religion most people seem to think - when I tell them "I'm religous", we pray and do everything else, but the modern church has changed drastically, to the point that we do believe in Aliens, Accept gays into church, and Pope Francis literally appoints special council hunting pedophiles - we believe in science too, Great Men of science like Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo (who literally defied the church), Georges Lemaitre (who worked with Einstein on his relativity equation - was a priest), and Many NASA Austronauts are devout catholics.

None of them, however, claimed that - literally - God spoke to them (as these bozos claim - like a full convo), No - when "God speaks to you" literaly means you were inspired by God from someone, through something - painters call this a "Muse" in Faith, we say "God Spoke" or "God has Spoken" - as in it's God's will.

When speaking about religion, try not to look at it from the literal point of view, when God speaks, he speaks through someone, your mom, dad, whoever - you hear the right thing, and you act.

Again, when someone literally says "God Spoke to me" and they had a "Conversation about what to do" - that's when the greatest crimes in history have been commited, not because he actually TOLD YOU and you REPLIED, but because you wanted to say he Spoke to you and YOU ONLY, and people will always have an Agenda, when speaking like that, hence their plane BS.

To your last point, we do have actual historical evidence as to when Catholicism came about - Reza Azlan, has a PH.D in religion and has actually written about this - https://www.amazon.com/ZEALOT-Life-Times-Jesus-Nazareth/dp/140006922X

Regardless of your beliefs, Jesus did indeed exist, and was a very prominent figure well known for prominent figure performing actual Miracles, like healing Lepers, and resurecting Lazarus (historical evidence of this is true) , and he founded his own Church through one of his Disciples - Peter (who became the first Pope Ever) around 30 AD - this is a historical fact.

We know too - Jesus was so prominent, he shows in other religious sacred texts, like Jewish, and the Quran, which his name is mentioned more times than Mohammed.

I have an actual white noise machine in my living room and one near my bed. I run them almost constantly. I see what you mean about not being quite the same but after a while I actually like them more than fans. They have a smoother whirl sound and I dont usually like to have fans on as much as I enjoy having them always on. My girlfriend used to say she felt like she was sleeping in a wind tunnel and I was like "exactly, world's best sleep!" [specifically this one] (https://www.amazon.com/Marpac-Classic-White-Noise-Machine/dp/B000KUHFGM). I like it because it doesnt feel like an artificial speaker noise or phone app would

If anyone is curious you can buy a similar type of candy at Amazon. Popin' Cookin' has many adorable types. I've placed an order for the Sushi kit myself. They also have pizza, ramen and a few other types.

Googling this, I think that the type in the video is the non-edible play food, still super neat though. Hope that helps.

Edit: I rewatched the video and looked at the box again. This is also candy. My bad.

By the way, there's a really good sci-fi book about VR. It's called "Ready Player One"

It's different in the narrative, but also touches upon the topic of people becoming addicted to the virtual world. It also contains a mystery that the characters had to solve, which I found to be pretty intriguing. Also, if you grew up in the 80-ies, you'll love it even more.

Pretty sure he answered the questions with every bathroom has a sink right? Maybe he just uses water on his hand and wipe his butt until he knows it's clean? To be honest he should just get a bidet. http://www.amazon.com/MB110-Non-Electric-Mechanical-Toilet-Attachment/dp/B001KKRCFA

Yep, and they fly great.

Hubsan X4 or Blade Nano QX are the two I can suggest (have both). Started with the X4 but eventually purchased a hobby grade transmitter and a Nano to bind with it.

WLToys and Syma make some other popular options, many of these at $50 or less (especially if you don't mind a wait and shipping from China).

If you want Prime though, here is the X4 page and here's the Blade QX BNF.

Have fun!

> Hygo Inc., a company focused on search-engine optimization and creating viral social media marketing, according to its website. Zhang's personal logo appears throughout the video.

AKA Media Manipulation; It's incredibly easy to sway blogs & other internet outlets nowadays without them even knowing it. I highly recommend Ryan Holiday's "Trust Me I'm Lying" if you're interested in reading on it further.

u/thedevilsmusic · 1 pointr/videos

This is also a great learning quad . After a little over a month of draining the 3 batteries I have for it almost everyday, I feel like I have a good grasp on the basics of flying. I'm planning my first build now.

The hubsan is definitely worth the money.

The Lockpicking Lawyer recommend this for a good value lock. It isn't pick proof but it is great if you're on a budget. It is gonna provide some difficult to physical and picking attacks. Its good for locking up your shed and such things.
https://www.amazon.com/ABUS-20-70-Stainless-Different/dp/B009S5Y6ZS/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_60_img_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=WDEXDDNG6E7GNCQSGDKA

Here are the locks you would used to lock up something very valuable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6iMmCSayBQ

u/abqnm666 · 1 pointr/videos

Yeah it should be easy to find the owners manual online, in case they don't include it, since it can vary by vehicle what relay(s) you need to pull. Practice and test first, in daylight, before getting to the hotel so you can do it in the dark, without taking too long or too obviously

That, good locks, and the vibration alarm should make it fairly troublesome (and obvious) to steal or force, so the majority of thieves will look for a better target if they can't get in the back and it won't start.

To elaborate on the locks, since I only specified the model, there's two versions, an older one with a traditional key (that takes a good amount of skill to pick) and a newer one with what they call the "Abus Plus" disk cylinder, which is going to take some grand master level of skill to pick, that's about $5 more than the normal key. Here is the one with the wizard level picking skill needed to open, on Amazon. No referral link, I'm just using Amazon since it's easy. There's some other sizes like the larger 20/80. Look for the black cover over the keyway, not blue, to get the better lock cylinder and key. Keyed differently are cheaper, so if you're just needing one lock for the back, then get that. If you want them keyed the same, find the keyed the same version, and when you order more than 1, they'll be a matched key so you don't need a key for each lock. They're 60k key combos, so it's going to be very unlikely you'd find someone else with a matching key.

If you like to read I suggest Ready Player One

It's a bit heavy on the '80s 'members, but otherwise a fantastic adventure story.

Just buy a damn bidet and save the wipes for the baby. Seriously, bidets are cheap, easy to install, save paper, and do a better job.

This is the best value if you're on a budget. A honing steel is essential for keeping your edge. Maintaining a sharp knife requires honing before every use, as well as occasional sharpening.

u/clumsor · 1 pointr/videos

This one
gets great reviews and is reasonably prized. I never tried it, my knive is a Güde Alpha Olive more expensive and not necessarily better.

u/jatznic · 1 pointr/videos

I used to use a fan. I finally spent the money on a white noise machine and I have to say I find it much better than the fan ever was. Give one a try if you haven't already!

This is the one I have:

Actually theres loads of research that proves bad press is easy to make good;

https://www.newstatesman.com/politics/media/2019/10/they-re-doing-badly-purpose-why-tories-latest-online-ads-look-so-ugly

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Trust-Me-Lying-Confessions-Manipulator/dp/1591846285

I think you need to look at it this way. Tesla have got their truck on the front page of just about every major news outlet, would it be there without the broken windows? Unlikely. Is something the windows breaking actually something buyers would care about? No. A single press release from them saying 'we now have stronger windows' would settle anything people were actually worried about.

u/FUBARded · -1 pointsr/videos

The guy linked the Amazon page and he bought it directly from Canon, 'ships from and sold by Amazon.com'. Seems like pretty shitty practice for two massive companies like Canon and Amazon to not check if their returned merchandise is actually what it claims to be...

Would what you said still apply in this case?

Pfft, I wouldn't recommend building one right off the bat anyways. That's a lot of fiscal and emotional investment for something that's gonna crash and burn in the first couple months anyways. There's a bunch of cheap, wonderful, learner 'toy' grade ones out there to whet a curiosity.

Good luck with your degree. I wouldn't know where to start with that, mine was in Computer Science.

u/r1zz · 6 pointsr/videos

How about the $14,000 hdmi cord. Don't forget to read the reviews. My favorite: a reviewer gave it 1 star because "it doesn't work with my VCR."

James Duane's Book on this topic, You Have the Right to Remain Innocent, is also a very good short read.

This is the one I use at home and have for the past six years. Though this appears to be the same except colored blue and white vs just white and it's 7 bucks cheaper.

If you just search amazon for bidet, there are tons of options, from the basic one that I link above to ones that use front and back warm water, blow dry you, spray fragrance and have a remote control (and also cost $600 O_o).

u/Jon_Cake · 3 pointsr/videos

I just finished reading Trust Me, I'm Lying, which has plenty of good examples of how easily the author (and others) have leaked bullshit into the news. This very much applies to serious stuff as well.

Highly recommend the book!

u/ProdigyRunt · 1 pointr/videos

There is an interesting book on the subject.
Basically, today's form of journalism is more focused on being first than being correct.

u/Saitani · 1 pointr/videos

For anyone who is interested in this sort of phenomena I would recommend reading:

/u/LockPickingLawyer/ applies the force in a similar way as the hammer does. The wrenches apply the force to the shackle while the hammer applies it to the lock body but they target the same point - where the cutout in the shackle meets the locking lug.

The wrench attack fails if you've got a long shackle though and when it's attached to something that interferes with your ability to place the wrench in the correct position at the top of the shackle. A hammer (or pry-bar) attack only needs the ability to get in-between the shackle and pull away from what it is attached to.

The point is either way that other styles aren't as susceptible because the forces can't be applied to that section of the lock.

u/factoid_ · 1 pointr/videos

Masterlocks are shit if you want to actually secure something. Want to make something mildly inconvenient to open? Use a masterlock. That's what I put on my fence gate so the kids don't open it and let the dogs out. I'm not concerned about security because ffs it's a 4 foot fence, anyone can just climb over it.

On Killing by LTC David Grossman has a chapter about how after the First World War, the US Army changed the way it conducted marksmanship training, by switching out "pie plate" targets for more human-shaped ones. It increased unit lethality 10 fold in WW2. He cites the whole "dudes missing on purpose" thing as one of the reasons for change.

u/Awarenesss · 13 pointsr/videos

I highly suggest reading On Killing: The Psychological Cost of Learning to Kill in War and Society by Dave Grossman. It gives excellent insight into how the military desensitizes people to killing and the effects it has had on soldiers, past and present.

u/CaptInappropriate · 5 pointsr/videos

Did you watch the video? I watch it about twice a year, and i have his follow-up book on my phone’s kindle app.

https://www.amazon.com/You-Have-Right-Remain-Innocent/dp/1503933393

The book’s big takeaway is you should assert your 6TH amendment rights, vice pleading the fifth, because the 6th gets you your lawyer before the cops can ask you questions, and your lawyer tells you to shutup. Too many people have it in their mind that asserting your fifth amendment rights against self incrimination is something that only a guilty person would do, and saying the sixth doesnt have that widespread perception (yet).

If you didnt watch the video. Watch it.

Imagine you had an ex who lived in the next neighborhood over, and they died. The cops talk to you because the ex is always the one who did it, but you didnt, so you answer their questions to clear your name. When they ask if you were in that neighborhood, you say “i’ve not been their for YEARS!” but the cops already have a witness who says they saw someone who looks like you with a car like yours creepin around that neighborhood on the day of the murder. You get hauled in front of a jury, and a cop and a witness say you were there, and you look like a dirty liar and risk going to jail, whereas if you HADNT said anything, the cops would have a random witness and nothing about you being a dirty liar.

Worth watching the full thing.

"Educate yourself shitlord" is not an argument.

It's a cheap deflect people that like to make up numbers (99.99%!!11) use when they cannot prove what they say.

>Why do you think are there only a handful of Muslims actually committing terrorist attacks? What do you think is the reasoning behind that?

There are also people aiding them and inciting others.

France close down 3 mosques - 334 war grade weapons found - 223 arrests.

Islamist extremists hide huge stockpile of weapons near German mosque.

There are plenty more of links of other mosques if search on google...this fact alone proves that your idea of "just because they believe it's good doesn't mean they do it" is wrong.

Are you going to say this was just a "coincidence"?

That they aren't being helped by the local mosques?

u/photenth · 2 pointsr/videos

Do some research on killology and maybe read https://www.amazon.com/Killing-Psychological-Cost-Learning-Society/dp/0316040932

There is a reason we have to train even soldiers to kill.

But let me ask you this. If you think terrorist ideology is intrinsic with Muslims and they all get a nice time in heaven if they die fighting jihad. Why do you think are there only a handful of Muslims actually committing terrorist attacks? What do you think is the reasoning behind that?
