Here's my accessories I prioritized weight and portability. I own the 13 in version

Sleeve
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N0TOQEO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
15 inch fits the 13 inch version nearly perfect. the edges are cushioned and the entire sleeve has the shock cushion bubbles. It also has a little storage pocket, that can fit all of these accessories including the pen's cigar case.

https://www.amazon.com/Thule-Gauntlet-TMPA-115-15-Inch-MacBook/dp/B006DUOMAK
I regret getting this case, not that it's bad, but adds a considerable amount of weight, it's kind of tacky and it's overkill for my everyday travel, and pricey, but it does provide a great deal of protection and you can use it as a stand somewhat and you can store a lot in it.

Stand
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M05SYJL/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Lightweight, portable, folds flat, supports 7 - 17" tablets, sturdy.

Bag

Keyboard
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UBGU4PY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You can use the F1 stuff by pressing fn or something like that.

Adapter

Other than that I got the thunderbolt 3 cable and card to use it as a cintiq with my desktop

Thunderbolt 3
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AS8U9KE/ref=twister_B01FH7NG8I?_encoding=UTF8&th=1

Expansion card
https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Expansion-Card-Motherboards-ThunderboltEX/dp/B01HDUVJ54/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1487198287&sr=1-1&keywords=asus+thunderboltex+3

With that I wish there was a more compact charging cable, maybe the apple USB C wall charger will work and a portable battery. Does anyone know how much power is needed to charge the Mobile Studio? and a good desk arm for this thing.

Here is a useful app if you want to voice control your tablet, but I think it might cause battery drain

Are the 4 holes on the back not mounting holes? I can create a custom vesa adapter just fine so long as I know those 4 holes are capable of supporting the weight of the cintiq.

Edit: They are mounting holes.
Judging by the pictures and what I can tell about the width of the cintiq, the holes seem to be 75-80mm apart from top to bottom. If that's true and it's 75, then a normal vesa mount would work.

As jerry-rigged as it sounds, I'm honestly hoping to try out one of these to adapt it to an ergotron arm.

I personally use a Wacom Cintiq 13HD. I used to have one of their entry level Wacom tablets. I can honestly say I’ve been way more productive now that I have a Cintiq. It also feels more natural to draw with than looking at a monitor. If I had to recommend a tablet, I’d get their Wacom Cintiq 16. It’s newer than the Cintiq 13HD and it’s cheaper too for more screen real estate. Cintiqs are totally worth the money imo! I’ve had the Cintiq 13HD for 6 years now and it’s still working great!

Edit: Got the Cintiq 13HD for a good deal off eBay.

  1. Touch is a gimmick, even after I year I still struggle to lift my pen high enough to leverage rotating, zooming the canvas, it's easier to keep my mouse on the tablet since my other hand is always on the keyboard. I can operate the mouse with the pencil still in my hand to zoom and rotate as needed. I could also assign keyboard shortcuts to do the same operations. One good thing is that touch only works perfectly with Mac OS, if you need a break from the mouse I have found this to be very functional with gestures. Cannot say the same for Windows (even Windows 10)

  2. I hate the pen, the 2 button is terrible no way to tell which button you are pressing, the buttons are also in too close to the tip. I just rotate the buttons out of sight and mind. Good thing you CANNOT USE ANY OTHER PEN on this tablet.. yeah Wacom I love you.... My 1999 Graphire let me use various pens :(.

  3. Good luck on those "software" packages with it. Their registration system was broken and may still be, took 3 weeks for support to get back to me and told me I needed the receipt, gave up after that.

Here is what I'd say, I have another Wacom from 1999, the original Wacom Graphire, still works and has all the same features plus an eraser tip... The surface was replaceable and its worked on every version of Windows and Mac I've even owned.

So go with what iroll20s said, there is nothing new here and hasn't been for a long time, they just keep rebranding this damn thing. I've already lost my USB cable and the surface is getting more and more scratched, and there is no path to fix this. I went through hell finding a USB cord that fits this stupid port.

    Here is a Graphire4 for $30 USD... https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000BBE9DM/ref=dp_olp_used_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=used

here is the previous gen, with what I would say is a FAR better pen and still had touch for $100 USD... https://www.amazon.com/Wacom-Intuos-Medium-Certified-Refurbished/dp/B00MJSAIH6

There are other brands but overall the drawing feel is never been matched compared to Wacom products and don't get me wrong they last and it easy to find nibs and pens. Sp keep that in mind.

Otherwise grab a used one from Amazon here: it'll be great quality and you'll save a fair amount!

u/SgtWiggles · 3 pointsr/wacom

That really sucks, sorry about your issues.

As far as the stand goes, there are plenty of good alternatives. I got this one and it works absolutely perfect for the 16", and its extremely easy to carry.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0016LKWLO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Also to anyone else buying a MSP, maybe Amazon would be a better alternative? Just not having to deal with Wacom seems like a plus, plus they have accident protection plans

Hi, I'm new here and going through all posts trying to evaluate if I should keep the CP16 I just received. I ordered with a local store and the return policy is not that flexible once I open the box. I would be kinda screwed if it doesn't work :(
Thanks for all the infos and videos so far.
I have a Macbook Pro 15" (mid 2014) that should support 4K at 60Hz. According to the info from this tread, I should be able to connect via the Wacom link using a Mini DP to Mini DP (or simply Thunderbolt, but more expensive). Sounds about right?
There are not so many (mini DP to Mini DP) out there, more likely Mini DP to DP. This would be the cheaper version compared to a Thunderbolt cable. or would there be any reason to get a Thunderbolt cable? https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Mini-DisplayPort-Black/dp/B00HNF0L2C/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1491174050&sr=1-3&keywords=mini+dp+cable
I'm not 100% aware on how to connect the Cintiq Pro 16. If I don't use the Wacom link, for what ever reason, would I need to use each USB-C of the tablet (power, monitor, pen).
And did everyone get it to work after all?
Thanks for any feedback. Cheers

Hello!

Im about to buy my first Cintiq after years of using a Wacom fun pen&touch, and I have 2 options:

Cintiq Pro13

Cintiq 16

Whats the best option? Any other recomendations for a similar price?

Also, in the CintiqPro 13, what the fuck does DTH stands for?

Thank you!

u/kodack10 · 3 pointsr/wacom

I doubt you have HDMI inputs on your pc, but outputs will work. :) You need one of these, a display port to mini display port dongle, and the wacom link. If you don't have USB3 you'll need to get an add in card as well. With the exception of some laptops like macbook pro, most computers do not have true thunderbolt 3 connectors so most of us are using the link.

Recently bought this stand:
Aidata LHA-3 LAPstand Aluminum Portable Laptop Stand https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0016LKWLO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_kXRuybXJ713WT

It's very thin metal, making portable and includes a slip case, which I guess can be used as a mouse pad too.

I recommend getting some large rubber feet to stick on the top so the back of the MobileStudio Pro doesn't rest on the metal or the raises plastic logo. This means the rubber feet need to be thicker than the logo.

The feet at the bottom that holds laptops in place are metal covers in rubber. Plus they don't get in the way of your hand.

Seems stable enough and even raises the screen up a little. Several angles to choose from.

Only down side, the metal can be noisy setting up and putting away. It also has a disc on the bottom that rotates the stand. You can remove this to make it thinner and the stand still has its own rubber feet.

I've used this one daily for almost 2 years. There are zero bells and whistles, zero style, but I love it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VTHAS00/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_3j.Dzb03BR7S9

u/Chezz32B · 3 pointsr/wacom

If you can't find a motherboard with USB C display port alt, then why not just purchase a PCI-e add on card instead.
https://www.amazon.com/Dual-USB-C-Express-Alternate-Mode-UPD2018/dp/B01MY4WRBU
This one here's the card most people are using to connect their Cintiq Pro's to.

You connect your graphics card's displayport cable into it, then connect your Cintiq's USB C cable into the card.

Just make sure you're using the usb c cable that came with your Cintiq or some other cable that's rated for thunderbolt 3 4k 60hz output. Otherwise you might end up having disconnection issues or other problems.
Good luck now!

  1. This model works with the latest drivers still: https://wacom.com/en-us/support/product-support/drivers
  2. Yes, this could be problematic, you want to have the least amount of adapters possible. You will also need an adapter for the USB connection (so USB-A to USB-C), but that's an easy one.
Here's a DVI to USB-C adapter that will work for you: https://www.amazon.com/Kanex-USB-C-Adapter-Inches-White/dp/B017GGNU0C/ref=pd_sim_23_8?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=EG9JRV3QZHZW9GYR7K83
  3. Only one way to find out, but it will probably work.
u/Karlito_O · 1 pointr/wacom

I would recommend using a complete cable that goes from DP to mini-DP, something like this: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Mini-DisplayPort-Cable-Feet/dp/B013PWQPFS/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1490995544&sr=8-6&keywords=mini+dp+to+dp

For a few reasons:

  1. That amazon one claims to be VESA certified (those are the people that make the displayport specification)
  2. Every connection introduces noise and does not transmit the signal as well as a solid copper cable.
  3. You're introducing an extra 3 feet using that adapter. The longer the cable the more the signal degrades.
u/ultracoolboy · 1 pointr/wacom

just wondering would I be better off getting the older model small version while the last few are being sold before this new model fully replaces it ?

u/mesavemegame · 2 pointsr/wacom

That linked one wont work since the cintiq doesnt have vesa holes but the ergotron does.

One user said they would be trying something like this,
https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Bracket-Horizontal-Assembly-MOUNT-VW02A/dp/B01CUSHR1O/ref=sr_1_156?ie=UTF8&qid=1521994096&sr=8-156&keywords=dual+monitor+arm

it converts a vesa mount into a dual monitor holder. The only question is if the two outer vesa mounts will line up with the holes on the cintiq or not.

there is also this DIY solution
https://www.reddit.com/r/wacom/comments/82rpq8/mounting_the_new_24_inch_cintiq_pro_to_an/

u/xgalaxy · 1 pointr/wacom

Actually it doesn't say thunderbolt. It says USB-C for optimum performance or you can use a combination mini-display port w/ USB for display + data.

If your PC doesn't have USB-C then you will have to use the mini-display port + usb for connections. Most newer video cards will have a mini-display port in addition to HDMI video outs.

If you want to go the USB-C route on PC and your PC doesn't have USB-C on the motherboard then I think, but I'm not absolutely certain, that the PCIE cards with USB-C will work with the Cintiq. For example, something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JGJ8J0I/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=15WQ9Q344TVV1&coliid=I1EXEW8VITVLIS&psc=1

I teach math and use a Wacom CTH 680 (slightly older model) for lots of handwritten solutions and notes, etc.

They currently have them refurbished on Amazon, by way of Adorama for $100ish:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00MJSAIH6/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1478816516&sr=8-1&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=cth+680&dpPl=1&dpID=316jekSylXL&ref=plSrch

u/SweetMonia · 3 pointsr/wacom

As long as the USB-C supports alternate mode, then it can work, weather it's on the motherboard or not.

Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who tried this in action, but this card has the specifications you need. Tell us once you try it, so we all know~
https://www.amazon.com/Dual-USB-C-Express-Alternate-Mode-UPD2018/dp/B01MY4WRBU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1520917479&sr=8-1&keywords=pci++usb-c+alternate

u/ostapblender · 2 pointsr/wacom

You basically described whole line of small Cintiqs. Maybe that's the one? https://www.amazon.com/Wacom-Cintiq-Drawing-Tablet-DTK1660K0A/dp/B07L77GTTY

Yeah, they'll do, but they are far from entry level.

u/tanr-r · 1 pointr/wacom

The Ergotron LX HD Sit-Stand handles the weight of the 24" Pro plus VESA mount without a problem. But it is pricier.

u/Arganblawpher · 2 pointsr/wacom

Have you used the included Wacom's Link Adapter? If so, would a DisplayPort (male) to Mini DisplayPort (female) Adapter work?

For example
https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-DisplayPort-Female-Adapter/dp/B014DV2RGG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1483217739&sr=8-3&keywords=display+port+to+mini+displayport+adapter

My GTX 960 only has DisplayPort and not mini DisplayPort.

u/TheNoLifeKing · 1 pointr/wacom

https://www.amazon.com/Kanex-USB-C-Adapter-Inches-White/dp/B017GGNU0C/

]Just buy this if you need a USB-C to DVI adapter. It will work with the Cintiq22HD.

Is there anywhere I can check which tablets the wireless accessory kits are compatible with?

I'm thinking of buying this one in particular and my tablet is the CTH-470.

u/iAHFYart · 1 pointr/wacom

of gripping the pen is hurting your hand, try this pen grip you can attach to your wacom pen Plus Ergo Grip for Wacom Pro and Grip Pen Stylus https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0111LLPH8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_LldRCb99RX36E.

i naturally have a really strong grip but this takes the pressure off my fingers more bc it’s a chunky ergonomic shape for your hands

u/EvocativeEnigma · 1 pointr/wacom

You might have to spend a bit more money and buy the Wacom Accessory kit for the Bluetooth Receiver.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005PKPTB0/ref=psdcmw_16034531_t1_B006MRAVFE

I'm not sure how to use all the Bluetooth pieces or which one you are missing, but there might be a reason it was at Goodwill too. If something was wrong with the tablet, it might have just been donated to get rid of it as junk in the first place.

Maybe see if there is an option for using a cord to connect? I know my Wacom tablet connects just fine using an old camera cord once the Wacom one wore out, but that is on an Intuos model, but if there is a chance you have a cord around and it has an option for a cord connection, you could try that.

u/bobbynofooot · 1 pointr/wacom

Most online retailers sell them, you could get stupidly overpriced ones over at the apple store or order a reasonably priced one off Amazon. Id say hold off on buying an adapter till you know exactly what you will need.

tablet wise....hmmmm.... if you add about 27 more bucks to what your looking to spend you could get https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00EN27SHY/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all This guy. If you cant afford the medium they do have a small option https://www.amazon.com/Wacom-Intuos-Touch-Tablet-PTH451/dp/B00EN27ULS/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1505363765&sr=1-1&keywords=Wacom+Intuos+Pro+Pen+and+Touch+Tablet%2C+small that is 219$. These will just be drawing tablets and do not double as a screen that you can draw on

u/xILightIx · 1 pointr/wacom

This pen is heavier.

http://www.amazon.com/Wacom-Intuos-Carrying-Case-KP503E/dp/B00I9YQDWS

The only problem is it is the size of a sharpie marker.

u/tackmer · 2 pointsr/wacom

I use these and I just cut the thumb and first two fingers off. Comes with 4 so if you accidentally lose one, you have more! I also saw this on Amazon if you want something a little fancier. Hope this helps!

u/Blebbb · 1 pointr/wacom

If your wacom still has everything to work wirelessly, you can take out the battery and charge it with a universal charger and then put it back in and have it work. If the battery is dead and won't charge you would need a new battery, or if you don't have the wireless kit at all, you can buy the accessory kit. You would still need a charger for the battery either way.

The other option involves soldering. You can either solder a new USB connector, or a USB wire. Most people opt for the USB cable, like in this. If you mess up though it can easily short the entire board and brick the wacom.
