Eagle scout here and I've been thinking about how to get back camping almost weekly since I got my chair. The absolute best solutions I've come up so far involve a straight leg pop-up tent, this product which turns a 10'x10' pop-up into a walled tent (they also have a 12'x12' option), and something like this cot so I can avoid transferring to and from the floor.

Other options I can suggest would be to rent a yurt or contact a local renn faire/SCA group and ask if anyone is willing to rent out/loan a pavilion tent for the event

If the terrain is not wheelchair friendly and replacing the rear wheels with some "Sumos" or other mountain bike-esque fat knobby tire, and your budget allows I also suggest looking into the Rough Rider wheelchair from Whirlwind. It's a folding all-terrain wheelchair designed so most if not all parts can be sourced from hardware stores if need be, runs about $900 USD.

Good luck with the planning and wishing you much happiness!

To kind of piggyback off of /u/squiiints comment, a cushion can go a long way for comfort. I'm currently using a generic folding wheelchair that I bought on Amazon for $135 (this one), and a gel cushion for $25 (this guy), and they're holding me over just fine until I can afford my custom chair this fall. I take my chair on all kinds of terrain and the gel cushion is a great shock absorber.

I bought something off amazon, it's actually for MMA. It's a stretching thing I use for my legs. Really makes stretching that much easier for me.

Essential Medical Supply Sheepette Synthetic Lambskin, 24" x 30" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001CBG14U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_K.0PDbFT0TDJJ

Something like that?

I don't. I've been looking at something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FH6CS2/

But haven't tried it out yet. Wouldn't be good for general mobility, more for being still w/ rain (side of sporting event, etc).

Four Chamber Gel/Foam Wheelchair Cushion https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009R267IG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_dSR0Bb39JGZA1

I use 4 chamber gel pads for mine and I won’t use anything else now.

I'm using these on my Aero-Z. You have buy 8, but the price is good. You want 78a in hardness because it will give you some shock absorption.

I don't like the way they've designed the spacers (get spacers from a board shop), so you probably want to get some of those, and some bolts unless you have no problems with the stock bolts.

You may need bearings, too, unless can get them out of the stock wheels (I can't). Board shops have these, too. Just get the cheap ones. You're not skating.

In case the link doesn't work, they're Blue Bellies 8 Inline Skate Wheels 76mm 78a, Clear/Blue. $19.44 at Amazon.

Sorry if some of this is redundant--you may already know a lot of it.
