I think it really comes down to personal preference. Once you've build up that dexterity with your left hand, switching to using your right thumb doesn't magically make things easier. I'd rather use the word helpful, if that makes sense.
With that said, I've seen people use MMO mice in a few different ways.
1 - They use the 12 extra buttons for long cooldowns and rarely used spells. They keep the main "rotational" buttons on the keyboard by the left hand.
2 - They use the 12 extra buttons for all of their most used abilities and put cooldowns by the left hand.
(of course these aren't the only ways, just the ones I've noticed)
I'm the latter. I use my mouse for my most used abilities and put cooldowns on the keyboard. (in all games, not just wow) I prefer this because it feel like I'm able to move better since my left hand is kinda dedicated to movement. Do I actually move better? Probably not but it makes sense to me. & I can't play without one now.
All in all I think mmo Mice are SUPER helpful, but not necessary.
Here are the 3 main Mice - They all have decent reviews.
(I prefer Razer but thats mostly because ALL of my peripherals are Razer, so 1 config software :D. AND I feel like Razers buttons are positioned a little higher which fits my hand better. Corsair and Logitech can usually be found cheaper.)

Well, a few days ago there was a thread discussing the Gamescom event Blizz announced. We now know that is will be the cinematic and the release date announcement, but one poster said that if it is the cinematic then be prepared for a pre-Blizzcon release, and then /u/Naturalhighz posted a link to the BradyGames signature strategy guide which has a release date of September 23rd. Now, it's easy to just dismiss that (I did at first), but then Naturalhighz also points out, "well this company has been right on every single release except tbc where they were off by 1 day." That's a pretty good track record.
Then there is this video by BellularGaming discussing potential release dates, and he figures on a September 23rd release, and discusses why this is possible, as well as preferable over a November or December release.
Then there are a few other logical arguments I've seen:
Now, none of these arguments are bulletproof. Even all of them combined does not allow us to be certain. The release date could still be later. Though I'm almost positive it won't be in November because it creates too many issues with the new Molten Core, which would mean December, and that would mean 14 months with no new content.
Regardless, we'll find out in a week.
edit: Oh, and I forgot to mention that blue posts have been constantly saying that class balance tuning is one of the last things they do in an expansion, and the most recent beta build just happened to have a ton of class balance changes.
It depends on how much it interests you.
You can play the whole game without reading any lore if you want.
To get the story of a certain area or zone - read the quests and do your best to do the whole area to competition.
> Also what is a good place to read about wow lore?
I actually don't know. o__o I've been thinking about looking more into myself. They have some books that are good. I enjoyed The Last Guardian. They useally do books before expansions such as War Crimes for WoD and The Shattering for Cata.
There are also a lot of youtubes that talk about it as well though I haven't watched them myself.
The Art of World of Warcraft is a good pick as it shows drawings of various expansions.
Specific to Blood Elves would be the Art of WoW: Burning Crusade but it came from the Collector Edition of Burning Crusade so it could be a bit hard to find (and you definitely won't find it in a store.)
Also, if she likes drawing/coloring, there's a Coloring Book too. :)
If she likes the lore/story of the game at all and likes to read too, I would suggest the World of Warcraft: Chronicle books:
They are basically history books about the game's world from the creation of the universe up to the first few expansions of World of Warcraft.
here is another mouse with thumb buttons that might help but might be too big

also have you ever thought about getting pedals
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826102003
You can make a type of shift mod macro so that when you press the pedal it will change what your mouse buttons do giving you a lot more buttons with out having to move your hands a lot. Or you could bind strafe left and right to the pedals. If you need help with shadow priest i can help you out with improving your dps sending me your character name in a pm. Or if you want to stay anonymous I'll give you a vent or mumble you can enter and talk to me there and i can help you with macros for shadow priest.
Here is a link to my character if you are wondering who i am
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/antonidas/Ellgar/simple
There is also other programs that will as long as you hold down a key keep repeating pressing the button for you. This is against the TOS as far as i am aware of but i don't know anyone who has got banned yet for using it but don't take my word on that.
I got this one about two weeks ago and it runs wow great. I have the graphics settings set on seven with anti-aliasing and texture filtering turned down and get a solid 60 fps. Overwatch runs great on it too.
Edit: and from what I understand, Wow is more processor dependant than most games so the other laptop linked in this thread may run Wow better but since this laptop has a 1050ti, this laptop should run most other games better. So your choice really but both should run great
Nice ideas, clearly some thought has gone into them. I'm not sure it would work though...
I do agree that lore and the richness of the wow universe is one of its strongest assets, and one that is under-utilised. That appears to be changing though.
This post has the order of the stories:
https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/3h4lgb/the_complete_wow_book_reading_order_lore_timeline/
It's long, as it includes comics, short stories, etc.
Book wise, if you're looking at WoW specific lore, there's a few that are what I consider the essentials. I recommend you start with picking up Rise of the Horde, it gives a great background on how the Original Horde came to be. Then get the Warcraft Archive it has four books that all relate events to after WC3/before WoW. After that, get The War of the Ancient. At that point, you've read all the essentials of the pre-WoW/current WoW material. All the books past there can really be connected to specific events in the game (in which case, see the list on the thread I linked earlier.
Depends on the price you're looking at. This is 2011-2012 computer, likely heavily used, and was only mid range back then. This computer probably would have run Cataclysm pretty well. But i highly recommend not paying more than a couple hundred on this old computer. Once you start getting into the 500+ range you should save up for something nicer like this Acer Nitro 5.
Draenor is what Outlands was ~30 years ago. This is what Outlands looked like before the Orcs drank demon blood and corrupted the land.
If you are interested in finding out more about Draenor / WoD, I'd highly recommend reading Rise of the Horde. It's a really good book, and does a great job of explaining what happened on Draenor before the Orcs and Draenei arrived on Azeroth.
The Shattering. There's a pretty good storyline about both Magni and Anduin as well, and how Moira came to have a seat in Ironforge. It really does fill in a LOT of what happened between wrath and cata. If you care about the storyline of wow, I'd dare say it's essential.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1439172749/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1321816538&sr=8-1
edit: it's listed as hardcover, paperback, and ebook format, if anyone is wondering. I was just posting from my phone and grabbed the first link I came across.
If you can get a hold of WC3 and TFT (only 20$ for the Warcraft Battlechest on Amazon atm) and play through all (9 in total I believe) the campaigns you'll have half the lore leading up to WoW nailed down. The rest would be reading the Warcraft books, which are mostly good and better, despite some not liking some of them, I think all the books are worth the purchase, or read.
The rest is completely up to you, jumping from one lore page to the next on Wowpedia (or Wowwiki) simply according to my curiosity is how I learned most of my lore.
If you want a testament to the current crappiness of razer, have a look at the nostromo n52te... before it became a dedicated razer product.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B004AM5RB6/sr=8-2/qid=1417050664/ref=olp_tab_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new&qid=1417050664&sr=8-2
$200-400 new. It was $55 retail when it was being made still. Mine is STILL working perfectly after 6 years of use in wow
I use this version of the Nitro 5 and it’s been working beautifully. I don’t raid really so I can’t give you specifics there, but everywhere else has been butter smooth. Also, one of the few in the price range with HDD expansion slot which is nice because WoW takes up some room.

1-70 Cheapest, Comes with a free month; note all keys are battle chest keys now
70-80 Wrath of the Litch King
80-85 Cataclysm
85-90 Mysts of Pandaria, Coming out some time within the next 6 months.
So 1-85 now is $65 with a free month... Not too bad, $65 is a pretty decent price point. I think i paid like $140 over the years for xpacs.
I love the [Logitech G13](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001NEK2GE?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=davshouofsmah-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B001NEK2GE"&gt;Logitech G13 Programmable Gameboard with LCD Display</a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=davshouofsmah-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B001NEK2GE) for WoW. I even have my buttons arranged like they are on the G13. One set on each side. Left side, then hold one of the thumb keys + a button and bam, set two.
There's not a lot out there. A short story on the wow website about Baine Bloodhoof: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/game/lore/leader-story/baine-bloodhoof/1
I'm pretty sure that "The Shattering" book about the Cataclysm also talks about Cairne and Baine: http://www.amazon.com/World-Warcraft-Shattering-Book-Cataclysm/dp/1439172749
Although I have not read that book.
You can also check sites like Wowpedia: http://www.wowpedia.org/Tauren
You can try this. It will let you move everything to your left hand and give you a way to toggle between 3 different key sets. Then you would only be using your mouse for click to interact stuff.
As far as class? Any ranged DPS would work fine. Minimal movement most of the time. A healer would work as well. You can just make macros for "Heal party member 3", "heal party member 4", etc and not even use a mouse to hover over names.
edit: Didn't see that Amazon didn't have the game pad. That Logitech one looked niftier anyway.
You're almost better off just buying a good pair of cans (sennheiser, audio technica, grado, shure, akg, etc.) and attaching a clip-on mic to the cord. far superiour audio quality, and the mic is good still. You can get a stunning pair of 75-80$ headphones and spend the rest on a mic
>She'd never wanted this. Not really. as she had told the troll Vol'jin before, during the trial of the late and greatly unlamented Garrosh Hellscream, she liked her power, her control, on the subtle side. But with quite literally his dying breath, Vol'jin, the Horde's leader, had commanded that she do the opposite. He had been granted a vision by the loa he honored.
>You must step out of da shadows and lead.
>You must be warchief.
>Vol'jin had been someone she respected, although they clashed on occasion. He lacked the abrasiveness that so often characterized orc-leadership. And she had been genuinely sorry he had fallen - and not just because of the responsibility he had placed on her head.

I've been using some form of MMO mouse for years now, since Cata, to be specific. I got the SteelSeries WoW mouse, which had something like 15 buttons all across the mouse. I switched to a Razer Naga and I don't feel like I could play without it now. I use my keyboard to type, Orbweaver to move and move through menus, and mouse to do shit. You can get a Chroma Naga for about the price of a AAA game right now. Give it a try, if you don't like it, you can always return it.
I skimmed some of the other comments and the mouse, much like a second monitor, is one of those things I couldn't live without now. The convenience factor is far too great to go away from.
This is what I currently play on.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DT4A2R4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&amp;psc=1
Works perfectly fine. Usually hovers in the 30-45ish FPS range during combat. Pretty solid little machine for the price.
https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Gaming-i5-7300HQ-GeForce-AN515-51-55WL/dp/B074Q54GSR
I just got this for playing at work or on the road. For a laptop, its the right mix of processor, GPU, and an SSD drive for the price point. I run WoW as per Nvidia recommended settings at or above most "8" presets and it runs beautifully. Also almost no bloatware. The speakers suck, negated by headphones. Great system for the price.
The three WoW chronicles are a great place to start.

https://www.amazon.com/World-Warcraft-Chronicle-BLIZZARD-ENTERTAINMENT/dp/1616558466/
https://www.amazon.com/World-Warcraft-Chronicle-BLIZZARD-ENTERTAINMENT/dp/1616558474/
After that if you really want more I'd start with the novels (I'd probably stick to reading the novels in published order.)
For headsets, just get a great set of normal headphones and a standalone mic.
I use these Superlux with this clip on mic. Extremely lightweight, comfortable, semi-open format (a dealbreaker for me personally) and near studio sound quality.
That's definitely an improvement but you will probably want to save up and get one with an SSD drive. HDD's will tend to give you problems especially if you travel with it a lot. SSD will save you money in the long run.
Dell 15.6-Inch Gaming Laptop (6th Gen Intel Quad-Core i5-6300HQ Processor up to 3.2GHz, 8GB DDR3, 256GB SSD, Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M, Windows 10) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015PYYDMQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_eztYxb1CH6170
That dell has specs you would want to aim for, about $100 more. you get a bigger screen, beefier graphics and an SSD. Not sure how the i5 and i7 stack up but their performance is probably real similar. The dell CPU has a higher boost clock but the i7 has more cores.
Some people say 256gb is too small but I have no problem fitting all my games and work on mine at the same size.
If you video edit or something you'll need a bigger hard drive but snag an SSD and a 950m or higher for sure
Acer Aspire E 15, 15.6 Full HD, Intel Core i5, NVIDIA 940MX, 8GB DDR4, 256GB SSD, Windows 10, E5-575G-53VG https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DT4A2R4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_xMtYxbVQWMXQM
Also this one is $100 cheaper but with an SSD
Oh and same price, but SSD + 950m
Lenovo Ideapad 700 - 15.6" FHD Gaming Laptop (Intel Core i5 6300HQ, 12 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX950M, Windows 10) 80RU00FEUS https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FJFN872/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_-OtYxbKXFYKPB
https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Generation-i5-7300HQ-GeForce-Dedicated/dp/B074Q54GSR
This does great with heroic raiding, on high settings.
Collector's Edition is only $100 if you're in Canada, using the .ca site. I can't check battle.net right now, but I'm pretty sure that's significantly MORE than it costs on there. What the heck?
If you don't mind the extra cables, I would recommend normal headphones that you would use for listening to music. Along with a separate microphone.
Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro
Audio-Technica ATH-M50
Those are two great under 200$ headphones. I've owned both and I prefer the Beyerdynamics since it has a removable cable.
As a separate mic:
Zalman Zm-Mic1
ModMic
Personally I use the Zalman. I simply prefer that style of mic over the boom type that a ModMic has. My friend swears by the ModMic though. On Mumble he sounds fine with it so the quality seems to be good.
If you simply prefer a headset that has a mic in it I would recommend these. I used them before I went over to a headphone/mic setup. The mic is a little muted admittedly, but everything is is A-ok. They're especially comfy.
Siberia v2
Alleria has not confronted Sylvanas, yet. That meetup is heavily hinted in 'Before the Storm' novel, the prelude to Battle for Azeroth (similar to 'Tides of War' preluding Mists of Pandaria and 'War Crimes' preluding Warlords of Draenor). There are two noteworthy conversations I'll point out:
On the Vindicaar when Vareesa is basically filling in Alliera on what happened: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVc2OK2L_KA
The other one, is when Alliera and Turalyon return to Stormwind and reminisce about their statues: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1k7V8jTGZE0
Editors divergent note/opinion: One thing I'll add which I think is a slight fumble on Blizzard's side is that the latter conversation is something you need to kinda hunt for as an Alliance player, and when Alleria returns to Silvermoon, it is covered in a Horde only scenario (which weirdly covers Nightborne recruiting). There was a clear story thread that feels a bit jumbled since you see this on the Horde side and it doesn't mean that much to them, while you never see this on the Alliance side and there is a clear buildup for that scenario for them but it is far more 'hidden' than the first conversation I linked. My solution to mitigate the fumble would have been at least in the Void Elf scenario to deliver a lot more expostion and Alleria's afterthoughts and Blizzard nudges to get you to play Horde and experience that Nightborne recruitment/Silvermoon scenario.
> the basic upgrade to the Battle Chest (which comes with 30 days) is $19.99. If you wanted everything altogether through Mists of Pandaria, you could buy it in a bundle pack as a digital purchase through Battle.net and that would save you approximately $20.
Buying WoW on Amazon is generally cheaper.
Battlechest: $20 from Blizzard, $17 from Amazon
Cataclysm: $10 from Blizzard, $8 from Amazon
MoP: $40 from Blizzard, $20 from Amazon
I don't actually see the bundle pack Araxom is talking about on the Blizzard store, but if we assume it's $20 off the above prices, that's still $50 for the whole kit and kaboodle from Blizzard vs. $45 from Amazon.
Now if you don't mind waiting for one of Blizzard's periodic Half Off Everything sales, that might be even cheaper, but who knows when the next one of those will happen.
Actually, if you want to try it, message for a guest pass that'll give you 14 days of free play for you to try it out. Also, my main is on the same server as the reddit alliance guild, so you'd be playing with redditors.
As for price...yeah it's kinda pricey, but I'd recommend buying this first. It's $30 and includes the original game and first expansion...thus saves you $10 over buying them separately (and comes with some COMPLETELY useless guides (the game has changed too much since then to make them worth the paper they're on)).
Hemholtz answered the question of expansions, this is added info:
If you don't mind the wait, this package from Amazon is $39 for the original game plus Burning Crusade and a couple guides that might help get you started.
yes!
I hear there are better options, again I see Razer getting a lot of heat on reddit. Mine has lasted well over two years though!
Edit: reposted under the correct comment thread
Amazon has it for $20, I think I saw it the same at best buy, and I've seen it on sale once or twice on Slickdeals in the last few weeks.
i Think im going for the Naga, im looking at my local amazon and saw varyng prices, this is the correct one?
https://www.amazon.com.mx/gp/product/B01798WKTY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&amp;psc=1&amp;smid=A3BWELMBWVCY9T
Thanks in advance guys
Would a speedpad (like this: http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Nostromo-Gaming-Keypad-RZ07-00490100-R3/dp/B004AM5RB6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1324743080&amp;sr=8-1 ) help? Target selection, I mean it's not perfect but I tend to tab-target (target nearest hostile in keybindings) to select mobs, it's a bit slower than clicking with a mouse for fast switching but as long as he's not raiding at the cutting edge it might be alright?
Also depends what class he plays. Healing anything more than a 5-man would be challenging, but with 5-mans you can assign party member slots to hotkeys for targetting. I'm not sure how it'd work in a raid.
10/15 8:43 AM EDT - back in stock for $99, just ordered
Edit: Back to just scalper prices, but I'd advise to keep checking, since it definitely came back at least once:
Sellers of CE
Unfortunately there really isn't much... the price per month hasn't changed in a very long time and is a hard requirement to keep playing now.
That said, there are some small things you can look out for. You can buy game time from retailors, in physical box/card form, and occasionally that goes on sale.
Right now Amazon is selling a physical key (this will actually get mailed to you) for 60 days of game time for $28.81, this is a whole $1.18 less than the base price! link
If you are sure you'll play for many months, buying game time in larger chunks directly from Blizzard does get you a slight discount on a per month price. But if you buy 3 months, and then stop playing after 2, you've 'wasted' money.

Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War mentions the sabotage and rescue that Horde players do in the Theramore scenario and goes into more detail about the events that happen prior to Mists of Pandaria.
Vol'jin: Shadows of the Horde takes place soon after the Dagger in the Dark scenario, and even has a flashback to the events of the scenario. Of course, the author couldn't go into specifics about the heroes who accompanied Vol'Jin on that fateful mission, but it is mentioned.
Christie Golden's War Crimes comes out next Tuesday and features the trial of Garrosh after he was captured at the end of SoO.
Counter-suggestion: Buy one of these and just buy actual headphones that prioritize sound quality and comfort over 'headset for gaming' branding.
Lots of peripherals like this exist now.

I always get my stuff from Amazon, there is an option to get it delivered the day of release.
I use a game pad for my left hand's positioning which is completely unnecessary, but I like the feel of it. My keybinds are 1-4, shift+1-4, alt+1-4, q, e, r, f, c, v, shift of all of those letters, 4 of my extra mouse buttons, and both scroll wheel up and down. This lets me use 30-ish buttons regularly in combat, though only a few of my characters actually use that many buttons. I have some normal setups, for example my Interrupt is always on V, my primary movement ability is C, etc.
The short story Edge of Night goes over Sylvanas's suicide after the Lich King was defeated and how she came to enlist the aid of the Val'kyr.
The novel War Crimes by Christie Golden. Focuses on Garrosh's trial in Pandaria, it bridges the gap between Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor. Sylvanas isn't the main character but she has a few chapters dedicated to her and her relationship with her sister Vereesa Windrunner.
The short story Dark Mirror which explains how Nathanos Blightcaller got a new, not rotting off the bone, body.
There's a new novel coming out called Before the Storm (also by Christie Golden) that bridges the gap between Legion and Battle for Azeroth. It explains what lead up to the burning of Teldrassil and the siege of the Undercity by Alliance forces. Sylvanas is one of the main characters.
Not sure if things have changes (since you said you had no way to buy it again) but Blizzard still sells WC3 on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Warcraft-III-Battle-Chest-PC-Mac/dp/B00009ECGK
The book that (hopefully) contains that answer is scheduled to release in june. You can read a sample here.
If memory serves correctly, he was Terron'gor in Rise of the Horde.

My money is on Sept 23rd. Amazon Guide Link The company that sells the guide is given a heads up on teh release date, and the last time they had an accurate date before the announcement. Basically, the timeline fits, beta has already started testing raids, level cap is 100, and they announced a short 6.0 PTR.

Have you read Tides of War? It all about Jaina and the bombing of Theramore.
The shattering, tides of war, and war crimes will give you a better idea of her characterization than just wowiki summaries.
Also, if you play Mage, she is pretty much 2nd only to Khadgar as far as mages go.

Old yes, but WC 1 and 2 are still fun to play, i have both on my crappy windows 10 laptop and run them in dosbox
As someone who can't touchtype and struggles with hitting modifiers, I always had trouble dealing with too many keybinds. So I use this:

Move with thumbstick, cast with fingers, turn, talk, and jump with mouse.
blizzard sells the game for $19.99, amazon has it for $19.99 with burning crusade. The battle chest can usually be found for the same price (or possibly cheaper) at your local game store.

I have the model from the beginning of the year that was only released in white with a slightly worse graphics card of the same model and its a beast, i run constant 60 fps in raids and out in the world on high settings
According to Mmo Champion its on Amazon
I'm at work and Gamestop is blocked so I can't check to see if it's there too. :/
I tried going with a separate mic and headset, and I ended up hating it. The headset was okay, but I couldn't really tell much of a difference between it and my old gaming headset that broke, and it got uncomfortable after wearing it for a while. I don't have room for an on desk mic, so I went with this. My friends were constantly complaining that I sounded like shit, because I sounded like shit, and it was difficult to get the mic to pic up what I was saying. I couldn't fix any of this no matter how I configured it.
Switched to a Steelseries Siberia v2 and never looked back. It's comfortable, inexpensive, and I can't really observer any quality difference. The mic is also much, much more convenient. That being said, I use the headset for gaming with music in the background; f you were producing music on your computer, a more audio centered headset would probably be better.
I just bought a new laptop after weeks of looking around for one. It's gonna be here today! I decided on this $800 Dell.
There's also the Lenovo Y700 for $60 cheaper that I read was better than the Dell I bought since their actual specs are almost identical, but the Lenovo's keyboard, trackpad, and speakers were much better than the Dell's. I decided on the Dell since I'm almost never gonna use the speakers and trackpad and because I think the "gaming laptop" design that the Lenovo uses is incredibly ugly.
This Dell is between the price of the above two computers. It's the same as the one I bought except it has an i5 processor instead of an i7 and it comes with a 256GB SSD instead of a 1TB HDD. My logic was that I could always buy an SSD but not a new processor for my laptop, so I went for the more expensive i7 model.
This $550 Acer is the cheapest of the bunch. It has GTX 940M 2GB graphics card instead of the 960M 4GB of the above models, and a 256GB SSD like the Dell. Again, my thinking was that I would much rather have an inferior hard drive that I could easily replace than an inferior graphics card that I would be stuck with forever.
That artworks been around a lot longer then Hearthstone, hell it was the cover of Rise of the Horde, But right in the title they said it was a study so did they copy it? well... that's kinda the idea.
Heres a book; but those expansions were bad. Lorewise, I thought still bad but if you like to read.
It's long but you could watch this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0iKFASurHk
