I changed my shipping location to my brother since I was able to get one reserved at Best Buy. Here is my exchange with Amazon through email:

Your Name: Mike

Other info:Delivery Estimate not showing correctly.
Selected Order Items:
Xbox One Console - Day One Edition
Comments:Good Afternoon,
>First I want to preface this by saying not to alter my order in anyway as I don't want to risk the chance of losing my spot for a day one order.
>The page for this item (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CMQTVK0/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) clearly states:
>Orders are guaranteed to be available on the Release Day of November 22, 2013.
>My delivery status on my order currently states:
>Delivery estimate We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date.
>You have some worried customers in the following two discussions:

>Reading through those discussions you can see that it has happened to a bunch of people and we are worried we won't get our preorder on release date. Some support people have said that is just a technical glitch that will be fixed while others have said that we may have problems getting our orders. I personally should be one of the first in line as I ordered on the original opening of the date of June 10th. I recently changed the address it was being shipped to as I am going to send this one to my brother. Once I changed the address it showed that statement as the delivery estimate.
>People are just worried they won't get their system. Hopefully this is just a glitch and will clear up in a few days but is there anyway to know for sure? Can we get word from a high level support member to verify?
>I do a lot of business with you guys and hope that this glitch will get rectified. I know your support is usually top notch. Maybe someone in support can post on these 2 topics and ease our minds.
>Thank you for the help,
Here was there generic response but this may have been what triggered the research into the matter as I made sure to specify that this needs to move up the chain of command to someone who knows something. This support member was obviously a Level I following a script. I'd like to hear from an actual manager or a statement from Amazon that we are safe with our orders.
>Hello,
>I understand your concern about the estimated date for "Xbox One Console - Day One Edition".
>I'm forwarding your comments to the appropriate managers. You might not see an estimated delivery date on the order detail page due to the volume of pre orders at this item. However, you'll receive an email when your order is shipped with your tracking number. Your order could ship any time between the Release-Date.
>You can always check the status of your order in Your Account. Here's a direct link to the order details:

If you go budget go with this TCL
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06Y6FSV5Q/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1505625124&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=tcl+55p607&dpPl=1&dpID=51jMb13MKML&ref=plSrch
Has actual HDR and actual 4K the S series mentioned by other redditor uses tech that fakes 4K and HDR not true 4K or HDR. (55" 4K HDR 10)
The TCL P607 (Amazon.com) and I believe it's called TCL P605 at Best Buy are both same TV best buy version is lacking a remote with a headphone jack other wise same 4K/HDR panel. It's rated very highly by AVS Forums (Trustworthy Display Info) so does Rtings.com, and other sites as well. Best buy version is $599.99 and Amazon version is $649.99 if you want headphone jack on TV remote go Amazon but seeing as your using an X Box you already have a headphone jack on controller for night time head phone use.
Another good budget Display Panel is the Vizio M60-D1 (60" 4K HDR 10) I got this unit for $699.99 from Costco. If you go with a Vizio go with a 2016 M60-D1 or larger panel size. Any 60" and above Vizio Panels are 120Hz refresh rate (Manufacturers use wording to make refresh rates sound inflated for instance Vizio states 240 for 120Hz panels and 120 for 60Hz panels)
120Hz will help your games looks smoother and the prize between a 2016 Vizio M series 55" vs 60" isn't a lot so well worth it in case of using for an Xbox.
Lastly the Oled Panel the previous redditor mentioned is without a doubt the best panel available in USA currently for gaming use. Looks like that's not an option for you currently so the two others I listed are great budget TVs between $600-700. I can also recommend some panels for the $400-600 range or the $200-400 range if you need a different price point. True 4K and HDR with a good refresh rate aren't going to be easy to find below $500-700
Just last week I bought a Zalman lapel mic (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zalman-ZM-MIC1-ZMMIC1-Lapel-Microphone/dp/B00029MTMQ) to use along with my Audio Technica ATH-m50x's. I bought this and a y-splitter to test before paying for a mixamp. I read that depending on the headphones/mic you use you may experience sound quality degradation but that hasn't been the case for me. Everything works great, sounds fantastic and when asking my friends they say the quality from the new mic is superb.
So I would definitely just try the cheaper option with your setup first to see if it works as expected. It may save you some money.
TCL is the number 3 tv maker worldwide( just started in the usa in 2015-2016), Number 1 in china for years, the make their own components in the tv so they dont have to source parts, thats why they are so much cheaper( AND THINNER) than everyone else on the market but have SUPER HIGH END features like dolby vision and roku tv guide. And for gaming the P607 and p605 are one of the best on the market test at 15ms with game mode off and 6.5ms with game mode on... its a no brainier, 4k HDR, Doly vision( which is better than hdr) 55 inch at 650$, sold...
Ya i just recently bought one, amazon has them on 2-3 month back order, but buy it now and itll be here before xbox 1 x is out.. If u look in store make sure u look for the P series only, its the performance line and has the lowest input lag..

hey guys just wanted to chime in on the QC35's with the Xbox One, I have had tremendous success with this little guy. ADAPTER this product is great quality and i used it in tandem with this SONY lapel mic. I love the combo and im sure you can use any lapel mic, ive heard the popular ZALMAN mic does wonders as well for very cheap. good luck lemme know if this works for you guys.
The best bang for the buck in that price range would probably be the Turtle Beach XO One imo.
The XO Ones are a bit cheaper but they are a newer model than the XO Four and include the better chat adapter with mic monitoring and bass boost. Aside from the adapter the only real difference between the 2 models is the physical design of the headset itself. Feature wise they both have the 50mm drivers, detachable mic, work with other devices, etc. The XO Ones have a better feature set overall and perform much better than you would expect for their price. Amazon has them on sale right now for only 60 bucks:

HyperX Cloud II. I've personally owned the HyperX Cloud 2's for over a year and they're amazing. They're a little over your budget, as the cheapest price I found online was about $100, but they're well worth it. If you search around the subreddit, you'll see these are very popular and highly regarded. You can also look at the HyperX CloudX. These came out after I purchased my Cloud 2's, but these add an additional inline volume and mic mute control to the cable. They appear to the be exactly the same as the Cloud II's in every respect otherwise. I do really miss having an easily accessible mute switch in my Cloud 2's to quickly mute the mic in certain situations. You also get a hardshell carrying case which is nice, my Cloud 2's only came with a cheaper soft shell pouch.
I highly, highly recommend HyperX Pros. They are super comfortable for long gaming sessions (I've had problems with similarly-priced Turtle Beach and MS cans in the past). Also, the faux leather pads feel great. I switched them out for the foam ones a few months back so I can hear my girlfriend when she's in the room. Haha! Also, they're "cooler" for summer weather.
I do have to say, though, you'll probably want to cop a Turtle Beach adapter if you go with Hyper X, which will up the total cost considerably. The Turtle Beach comes with mic. monitoring. I can't even remember if Hyper X monitoring is supported through the Xbox dash. But they don't come with an adapter. I like having the controls right there in my hands versus the dash. And TB mic monitoring is much better.
https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Headset-Controller-Superhuman-Hearing/dp/B00PWRYKDE/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=turtle%2Bbeach%2Badapter%2Bxbox&qid=1573067683&s=electronics&sr=1-3&th=1
Hands down the best headset I have ever owned is the turtle beach stealth 500x. They are amazing. 100% wireless, great sound, 3 levels of mic monitoring and tons of other features with presets and things. Ear muffs are kinda stiff for my liking so I removed them and put the cushions from my x41's on. Much softer feel. Battery lasts about 4-5 days when its been fully charged and that playing like 4-5 hours a night on avg. I also use them to watch TV when not playing games they are that great!

PS: I am sure everyone knows this but Best Buy will price match anything from Amazon as long as it is shipped and sold by Amazon. In which http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Portable-External-Storage-STDR2000100/dp/B00FRHTSK4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1453477588&sr=8-1&keywords=seagate+2tb+external is. It's $89.99 at Best Buy, they will price match. Let me know if this looks like a good drive that hopefully works with Xbox One. I am getting an external because I have Gold and I want to take advantage of downloading the games that come with Gold membership. My hard drive is already 79% full.
I've just purchased Turtle Beach XO One Amplified Stereo Gaming Headset few weeks ago for £42,99, it's lightweight and it includes an Xbox One turtle beach Headset adapter.

>For All Your Audio Needs - XO ONE isn't just great for games Enjoy your favorite movies and TV shows with high quality sound Then crank up your tunes from music services like Xbox Music or Skype with friends!
If you want the best audio quality for the price, the best solution is a pair of good regular headphones and a clip on mic. I recommend the $40 Superlux HD668B, the $10 HIFIMAN Earpads and finally a cheap but decent $8 Zalman Zm-mic 1
This will give you much better sound, on par mic and supreme comfortability compared to any headset.
Don't mind you asking at all!
It's a combination of 3.5 mm aux cables and adapters. My headset set-up also easily works with a ModMic5 (what I now use at work with my 1000XM2 headphones). If you need pictures I can share some links.
Cable management is key so that this doesn't become a crazy mess of wires, but for all the parts in play I set this up very cleanly.
If you want better mic monitoring, higher audio output, and chat/game audio balancing from the Xbox One controller (use just stereo audio, no virtual surround sound) you can add in the Turtle Beach Headset Audio Controller Plus ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PWRYKDE/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_f1J0CbG4W43H4).

As you set this all up I recommend intertwining the cables or using some cable clips like those that come with the ModMic to make it clean.
What's your budget?
I'd get a good set of headphones. Do a bit of research to find the best pair that fits your budget. I own the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro 250Ohms. I'm happy with it. It's an open back headset so sound will leak in and out. If you prefer more isolation, look into closed back or semi-open.
Get the headset adapter for the Xbox One for $25.49.
Add a clip on mic like this Zalman Zm-Mic1 for $7.56.
Finally, you'll need a 3.5 mm splitter to join the headphones and mic. The thing you want to make sure is that there are three stripes on the plug. If you look at the plug on your typical set of headphones, you'll notice the plug only has two stripes. For the adapter, you have to make sure there are three stripes cause that's what allows you to combine the microphone and headset. Here are a couple of options: 1 and 2.
For my exact set up, you're looking at exactly $183 before taxes. You'll have a much better pair of headphones than what you'd get if you went with a Turtle Beach headset that's in the same price range.
I have this. I managed to get it for a good discount.
The sound quality is fantastic, and it comes with its own adapter. The headset itself is detachable and mostly universal (I often use it with both my computer and smartphone), and while plugged into the controller provides mic-monitoring with almost no delay—you can hear yourself as though you had no headset on.
Also, since the adapter is detachable from the headset, if the headset itself breaks (or you want to upgrade at a later date) you can just buy any new universal headset (such as this, for example) and the adapter should work.
The headset is comfortable for extended periods (within reason—I've had some ear pain after a full day of gaming). I only wish it were over-ear, rather than on-ear. For gaming headsets under $100, I think this is a major contender, and highly recommend it.
[Edit]
Almost forgot: if you just need a pair of headphones, you can detach the mic (it plugs into the left ear with a 3.5mm jack), and they work as a really good pair. My only complaint is that the cable is pretty short in this instance, so don't expect to plug it into your computer and walk away. I'm personally used to a 6-foot wire on my re-wired sennheisers, so unless you're spoiled like me, it shouldn't be a problem.
Pretty much. I'm using the HyperX Cloud II, so I had to take the 4-pole male and have it split to two 3.5mm male to separate the mic and sound using a headset to PC adapter. I'm using something like this.
Here's a wiring diagram with a Modmic.
To get the chat to work appropriately, you need to smash the party button on the chat adapter until it's 100% party (it beeps).
Here's a link to another thread on the subject if it helps for point of reference.
*Edit: If X1 supported generic USB audio like the PS4, this is what the wiring diagram would look like. So much cleaner and no cables anchoring the wireless controller.
I'm one for loyalty. I can,T really change my Xbox but the headset I bought from Beexcellent was not good enough. Cheaper price yes but not good enough. I returned it and Bought the turtle beach Turtle Beach EAR FORCE XO One - Xbox One a bit more expensive but it comes with the adapter and has mic monitoring. I should be good to go.

Thanks for the suggestion much appreciated.
I use one of these for multiple drives and all is required is the included cable. I’m sure there are plenty others. I’ve used this for SSDs on Xbox and on PC as well as using one for regular 2.5” drives.
I know there are some SSDs that are a little fatter than others but I think there’s more than enough room for them to fit in an enclosure like this.

If you prefer Amazon, here’s one that would work as well.

HyperX has great headsets. I just got the Stinger the other day and I haven't had any issues. Sound is great and it's really comfortable. It doesn't have as many features as their more expensive headsets like a detachable mic but it works great for the price.

I agree with what most others have said. But I would like to add a side note. Currently amazon has the 500gb GOW Bundle for about $310. So realistically you could save $90, put that in to a 2TB External HDD for $80 and you'll still end up saving $10 and have 3x the storage space. If you don't feel like waiting for Amazon Best Buy and Target will price match.
Ever heard of Powerline adapters? These useful adapters transmit internet access thru the home power supply, most of them are plug and play, and you can find a couple of them for less than 100 bucks, let me find a good one for you
Edit: here's an 500mbps TP-LINK powerline kit for less than 35$
http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-PA4010KIT-Powerline-Adapter-Starter/dp/B00AWRUICG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1425250712&sr=8-1&keywords=Powerline
Ps: it's easy to use, just plug one adapter to a power port, then connect it to router or modem using ethernet, then connect the other in the room that has the xb1, and connect the latter to the adapter using ethernet, and you're good to go!
The way it fits in your hand, the responsiveness of the buttons, the range of operation, the number of different buttons it has, the battery life, the overall look and feel and the quality and it's $14.00 vs $50.00

Honestly, I have both. I had the cheap one for about a year then I "assumed" the $50.00 one was better so when I bought a 1X I bought the more expensive remote. After using it for about a year I went through my drawers until I found the cheap one I was using with my 1S and swapped. Now I am much happier. It's Amazon. Buy both and decide for yourself and return the one you don't want.
These aren't wireless, but I bought these Powerline Adapters a few weeks ago and they work amazing. I've noticed a huge improvement in my speeds.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SAYCVTQ/ref=twister_B00SRWDHOE?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Amazon.com has the HyperX Cloud II for $75.97. It says PC & PS4 but it'll work just fine with the Xbox One. It's a great headset and even better at that price point!
Depends on what you're after. If you just need storage and aren't concerned with loading times, go with a hdd. If you want super fast loading times, go with ssd. I personally got this one and it works great for me. And it's USB 3.0 so it's technically a little faster than the internal hard drive. But some people want shorter loading times, so they shell out the cash for a ssd, but the price for the capacity was just too high for me. Plus it has the added bonus of being plug and play, so it's easy to transport if I wanna bring games to a friend's house.
I've always loved the [Xbox charge and play ](Xbox One Play and Charge Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DBDPOZ4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_igXNybQ695YP0). The battery pack last a long time and you just plug in and keep playing while it charges (charges fast also). Had for the 360 and worked perfectly for 6 years. Had it for xb1 since day 1.
What console does he have now? An Xbox 360?
Just wait till Black Friday and get whatever is cheapest.
You don't need Kinect or the Xbox One S. Just get the regular Xbox One with a controller... might be bundled with some games, if that's the cheaper option.
The console does not come with a controller recharger -- it just has batteries. So it's up to you if you want to keep buying batteries, use rechargeable batteries, or buy the [Play and Charge Kit] (https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Play-Charge-Kit/dp/B00DBDPOZ4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1474487379&sr=8-1&keywords=xbox+one+play+and+charge). Personally I have the play & charge because I don't want to be bothered with buying/recharging batteries.
Recommended games for him: Halo Master Chief Collection, Halo 5. Final Fantasy XV is coming out Sept 30th but it will be cheaper if you wait a while to get it. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is pretty cheap right now, but it doesn't have the best reviews -- it started off as a handheld game, so it's not a huge game.
Games are going to be way cheaper used on Amazon than in any stores. You can buy an Amazon gift card with cash at a store and use that to buy stuff on Amazon.
The only way to have surround sound is to have a surround sound processor like a DSS or Astro mix amp.
ASTRO Gaming MixAmp Pro TR for Xbox One - White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014H2YSEK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_sw.MybWT6F14R
That mixamp is $130 but is a good investment because it handles chat through USB so no
Cable to controller. Also you can change your headset anytime you feel like.
HyperX Cloud Stinger Gaming Headset for PC, Xbox One¹, PS4, Wii U (HX-HSCS-BK/NA) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01L2ZRYVE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_2C.MybRGSMTZT
This is a decent entry level headset that will work well with the mixamp. 49.99

These: http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Force-Amplified-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00KSVXSZU All of my xbox buddies and I have them, they go on sale between $40-$60 often but still not even $70 is bad for this, they have great control over which volume you want higher (chat or game) and include a noticeable bass boost button you can turn on and off. Also very comfy, I wear them for hours on end each day and barely notice them after awhile.
Edit: looks like they're out of stock on amazon right now, they have them at most major retailers.
Yeah i was reading reviews and a bunch of them said this https://www.amazon.com/TCL-55P607-55-Inch-Ultra-Smart/dp/B06Y6FSV5Q/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1510570576&sr=1-4&keywords=tcl+4k+hdr Tv is amazing for the price. 4k, HDR, 120hz Refresh Rate. Great deal
There's the MS stereo headset for £30: -
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Official-Xbox-One-Stereo-Headset/dp/B00I41H6DQ/
I own one of those and for the money I think it's really good. It comes with the headset adapter that plugs into the bottom of your controller.
I've heard good things about this one, for the money, but I have no experience of using it: -
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Turtle-Beach-Amplified-Headset/dp/B00KSVXSZU/
That one's a bit more expensive, but it comes with Turtle Beach's version of the headset adapter which has all of the features of the MS headset adapter as well as mic monitoring and adjustable bass boost.
This is the one I use now, although it's £170: -
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Astro-Gaming-3AS42-XOU9W-369-Headset-MixAmp/dp/B00O9N404Q
I really like it, although I would say it's a touch overpriced.
I ordered these after talking with /u/HyperX-Felinni. They're delivering tomorrow but every review I read made it seem like these are the best.
[Xbox Play and Charge] (https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Play-Charge-Kit/dp/B00DBDPOZ4)
You mean like the one officially offered by Microsoft? Thats a pretty good one.
Yeah. The Xbox One S has an infared blaster I'm pretty sure. So it should work with pretty much any TV. That's how it controls cable boxes if you use that.
This is the remote I have https://www.amazon.com/Talon-Media-Remote-Control-Blu-ray-Streaming/dp/B01GOK34SO/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_63_t_0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=VTZZ81ZWAAS87B8NV6JP&dpID=315Qbn6Jr8L&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=detail
My girlfriend picked up a pair of Duracel Rechargables for us and they've been working great.
If you prefer the Microsoft route it's always reliable.
Or the ever popular Eneloop Rechargables
All 3 of those options last quite a long time, I've only tried the Duracel's but they've been fantastic for such a cheap price.
I've got this one and it's great. Completely silent and seems to work perfectly.
I've had it for over a year with it constantly plugged in and never had any trouble.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00TKFEE5S/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1485431485&sr=8-8&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=xbox%2Bexternal&dpPl=1&dpID=41T6y4463DL&ref=plSrch&th=1&psc=1
I literally bought the first one off Amazon (this one). Think it was $9. Only thing I'd note about the enclosure is make sure it supports UASP, which will make best use of the SSD.
Agree on WD, I use this and can highly recommend it:
https://www.amazon.com/Black-Passport-Portable-External-Drive/dp/B01LQQH86A
So you got this tv, correct? How is it? Been looking at it and want to make sure it's good. Good to hear that certain things on Rtings are over exaggerated.
If you want a decent no frills headset, I recommend the Turtle Beach XO One. It comes with the headset adapter and they sound really nice. There are separate volume controls for party chat and for game sound.
If you already have a nice pair of headphones and don't plan on chatting with anyone, a less expensive option is to just go pick up the Xbox One Headset Adapter and use any headphones or earbuds you want.
This also looks very good. It's price in my country is 328 TRY and equals 85 USD & 47 GBP. I can afford this but I wonder that how is really works fast as other external hard drives special for Xbox One? I read the comments below on this page (because I can't open your link but same product) and they are saying that is working fast. So you're playing games fast? https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Expansion-Portable-External-STEA2000400/dp/B00TKFEE5S
I'm asking this because I'm not good about external hard drives actually.
Thanks.
Cant wait for this to happen. Right now I use the Hauppage TV tuner to get over the air channels and it works great. Would love to be able to record a handful of shows

If you look in the description it says It gives you a code to redeem it. I imagine GameStop will have it printed on the receipt like they do for certain preorder bonuses. I preordered from GameStop as well.
Because they only got like 10 of them for preorders whereas they get like 40 PS3s (and probably more added in the last few days).
Amazon still hasn't sold out of day one systems after a week and they were out of PS4 launch editions in hours. All that exists for PS4 launch systems is bundles now and even three of those are in the top 10 selling video game stuff on amazon. Side note: The delayed PS4 (non-launch) is outselling the Xbox One by itself.
Again, I don't want to sound like I'm bashing Xbox. All I'm saying here is the PS4 is basically guaranteed to have better launch numbers. That's it.
Any luck with this at all? Im in the same boat. I do know you get a 3.5mm spliter with a female end that will put out into a mic and headset cable, would this maybe work if attached from the headset?
EDIT- one of these. this might well be the solution im hoping!

You can't (unless you want to pay way too much), they're discontinued. People have been using this instead. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GOK34SO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Not as durable, but still pretty nice.
This is the one I bought. I've used it for the past four months without any problem. I paid 100 for it. Looks like Amazon has it at 105 right now.

Real Headphones > Gaming Headphones
My recommendation Sennheiser HD 598
and Modmic
Best Bang for your buck
The Philips SHP9500 paired with a modmic or zalman clip-on mic is a budget friendly option
With this $50 device and an HD antenna you can turn your XBOX One into a DVR. Watch free over-the-air broadcast TV on your Xbox One, pause live TV for up to 30 minutes, stream live TV to SmartGlass application, and it will actually create a guide displaying all your local TV listings. Neat.

That is your best bet for a TV... really good
It’s a Sabrent, it was under $10.
Here’s the link:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OJ3UJ2S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_3aU7CbVSD95GK
Works great. You can also just use a SATA to USB3.0 adapter if you don’t care about the looks
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B011M8YACM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_4cU7Cb5QRX4CM
The Xbox One OS takes about 200GB's of space if your using this drive as a main drive, so..no, you wouldn't really be able to install anything involving games onto it at least.
You'd be much better off with keeping the 1TB HDD in the One X, and buying a separate USB 3.0 enclosure instead to put the SSD inside of it so you can use the full 240GB's of space on the SSD.
Something like this would probably be far better suited for you, so you don't have to take apart the entire Xbox One X.
I mean you got a Lamborghini. I just found these for you, $10 bucks more but well worth it. Get them & let me know. HyperX Cloud Stinger
Edit: Memory foam and 50mm directional drivers for Audio. Worth it.
WD. Seagate has a high failure rate.
I have this 4TB drive. As a bonus, it looks like a mini OG Xbox One.

$100 plus the $25 headset adapter and you're way under budget and you have an awesome headset. You're welcome.
thank you. I want to get him a nice gaming headset though with a mic. Not just ear buds.
Like these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KSVXSZU/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza
Im just afraid they will be too big
In the review/comments section for this model it says "does not work with Xbox".
Do you think they say that because they mean it doesn't work with the xbox stereo headset adapter?
Sorry.. I'm sure it's really basic and easy to understand if I saw it, but I can't understand it from the pic on amazon. It looks like a large headphone jack splitting into 2x 3.5mm plugs. But the Elite controller has only one 3.5mm headset jack.
Edit: My plan is to buy the Phliips SHP9500
Seagate Slim 2TB. Love it! Turns off when system is on standby...VERY IMPORTANT.
http://amzn.com/B00FRHTSK4
http://amzn.com/B00029MTMQ
This comes with the splitter.
Awesome. Good stuff, gentlemen.
I have one of these for my XBone and my PS4. They work great, don't take up a ton of space, and don't need an additional power supply. Amazon Link I Hope That's Okay
This is pretty close to my situation, I think. Good to hear it's working for you (for the most part). I think it's worth a shot. Is this the one you have? http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-PA4010KIT-Powerline-Adapter-Starter/dp/B00AWRUICG
Gamestop has bundles on their web page. With these bundles you are not saving very much any how. I saw a PS4 bundle that you get $10 of a year of PS+; but can easily find just as good of deals for XBL
In fact AMAZON is selling 12 months for $49.79 right now.
Not the BEST solution, as it requires some cash, but I picked up a Turtle Beach adapter with mic monitoring and superhuman hearing and it is awesome. $25 on Amazon.
I can't find the turtle beach ear force adapter anywhere to purchase. Can someone provide an amazon link for me? Thanks a lot!
EDIT: Looks like I found it..is this the right one..for $40? https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Headset-Controller-Superhuman-Hearing/dp/B00PWRYKDE/ref=sr_1_8?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1469390457&sr=1-8&keywords=xbox+one+ear+force
Spend $10 more and get a NEW one instead.
This one is Seagate though. Not trying to start a whole debate but this is a really good deal. Basically the same as the "official branded green Xbox One game drive" except well this is cheaper and "it comes in black".
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FRHTSK4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
Does he/she use it with the TV or play a lot of media?
The Media Remote is awesome.
Or how about a Play & Charge kit?
https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Stinger-Headset-HX-HSCS-BK-NA/dp/B01L2ZRYVE
I have the IIs but if your price is $50 this is probably your best option.
Unfortunately with the WD drives, they are soldered to the board so you're unable to open these up and use the drive on the PS4. The perfect one for the PS4 are the Seagate externals, those can be ripped from the enclosure and used on the PS4.
This one will do
I play with rechargeables, and prefer them.
Here is a scenario as to why... you are playing a game, really getting into it, when your controller turns off due to runing out of "juice".
With rechargables, you switch out the batteries, and continue to play just like before.
With charge kit, you have to plug in your controller, so you are now using a controller hooked to your console. I, personally, don't like that.

incase you were wondering I have this one and the quality is great like I said http://www.amazon.com/Zalman-Zm-Mic1-Sensitivity-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B00029MTMQ

Best value headset near your price range is going to be the HyperX Cloud II's (Usually $70-85, depending on sale/vendor/discounts.)
https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Gaming-Headset-PS4/dp/B00SAYCVTQ/
TCL looks to have an pretty nice line up on their P series for 2017. The specs are killer for the price points. Real hdr, full array local dimming something like 72 zones.
http://www.tclusa.com/products/home-theater/p-series/tcl-50-class-p-series-4k-uhd-hdr-roku-smart-tv-50p607
I think amazon recently had the 55" on pre order for like $600. 50" will be $500 when it release later this year.
If you are trying to get a huge 4k set for your price range, no way.
https://www.amazon.com/TCL-55P607-55-Inch-Ultra-Vision/dp/B06Y6FSV5Q
you can keep an eye on reviews, it should release this month
I've been very happy with the Seagate External drives, like this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TKFEE5S/ref=s9_acsd_top_hd_bw_b2UnY_c_x_1_w?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-3&pf_rd_r=B3JHB9V18RMBWM1PYKGJ&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=85035ef9-ee9f-54b5-a801-4eb626d4a3a4&pf_rd_i=595048&th=1
As far as I’m aware, no true HDR exists on monitors atm. Only truly exists on 4k TVs (I could be wrong)
You could look at the TCL P670:
Amazon’s Listing for P670
RTings lists it as a good gaming option
[Seagate] (https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Backup-Portable-External-STDR2000100/dp/B00FRHTSK4/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1518562976&sr=1-1&keywords=seagate+external+hard+drive&dpID=31njL8rwUbL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch) is such a good external with a lot of choices. I've had mine for about 3 years now, and they're usually priced well. I got the 5tb and am barely at 28% with more games installed than I play.
muuuuuch better title.
This was number one in the deals and sales thread. I guess it would be a good spec/price to start with!
The Microsoft-made Xbox One S does not come with rechargeable batteries. There are a few good options on Amazon, including MS's Play and Charge kit:

wife has these, she loves them, and I like them more than my A40TR
They're still available on Amazon Canada if that helps - although I'd imagine the import duties and shipping would greatly outweigh the benefits of getting it Day One.

The Elite Pro Tactical Audio Adapter is pretty good, I use the first Edition of it.
Maybe you will find it somewhere, it seems to be out of production.
Edit: The first Edition comes with this Headset in a bundle.
My wife got me the Turtle Beach Stealth 500x. I'm not a super competitive gamer, but the completely wireless 7.1 surround and completely wireless chat is completely worth the price tag. As of right now, it is the only completely wireless setup for game audio and chat (Other options require the chat adapter connected to the controller) Also they have an internal rechargeable battery (which is nice not having to buy batteries or use rechargeable AA) that lasts 15+ hours and recharges in 3 or so.

Any questions about them, let me know!

I just got the Turtle Beach XO One headset. It's great, the sound is clear yet deep, it comes with an adapter if you have an older controller, and was only $60 on Amazon.
Also doesn't have to plug into another source besides the controller, my 360 headset always drove me crazy because it had to be plugged into the controller and another USB device.
Any and all. I'm using this with these headphone and this mic. Still won't work.
I also have TB's. I'm pretty sure they won't work because the cable is only a 3 conductor cable not 4.
https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Headset-Controller-Superhuman-Hearing/dp/B00PWRYKDE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1473211107&sr=8-1&keywords=turtle+beach+xbox+one+chat+adapter
that is the only product i know FOR 10000000% SURE that will allow OMTP or CTIA standard headsets+mics to work on xbox one. even though it's not a "converter" it will allow OMTP devices to function 100% properly. i have never personally known anyone to get a OMTP to CTIA converter to actually work on xbox.
I have these and I pretty much love the crap out of them:

Any external drive should be faster than the internal, whether SSD or not. I'd avoid SSD just because of pricing concerns.
I use two drives - one Seagate and one Western Digital. This is the Seagate one, you can probably find the WD 2 TB one through the 'bought similar' recommendations. They both perform the same.
Its an ok plan and but it may not resolve your issue.
Buy a powerline instead for 35$ and you'll be able to hardline without making holes in all your walls and you'll have far superior connection.

They're essentially the same tv except for a different remote. The best buy version is the cheaper version.
Cool thanks, now I just need to figure out what adapter I need. People are linking adapters that are CTIA to OMTP converter, I thought we needed CTIA?
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-EC250-Headphones-Adaptor-1249-0456/dp/B009HW15UG/ref=sr_sp-atf_title_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394999031&sr=8-1&keywords=Sony+R800+%2F+R800X+EC250+Headphones+Adaptor+%281249-0456%29
You can still use chat with the DSS2. It just involves some adapters.
You are getting surround sound directly from the DSS2 fed into your headset The mic is going to the controller so people can hear you, only the chat is coming from the controller and being fed into the aux port in the back of the DSS2, allowing you to hear chat and it is laid over your surround sound. You can adjust the volume of chat via the stereo headset adapter or the guide if your controller has the 3.5mm jack built in.
This allows you to use chat on the DSS2! It is what I currently use.
If you have any questions feel free to ask.
EDIT This is what I bought, and although you can find it cheaper on monoprice or ebay, I had Prime so it was 2-day shipping for me:
HyperX Cloud Stinger
Steel Series Flux
And this cable
I have both and use them pretty interchangeably. Don't let the price $25 fool you on the Flux. It is an excellent headset (https://www.engadget.com/products/steelseries/flux/scores/).
> For me, I think it would be awesome if they sold the controllers with a rechargeable (and removable) battery and add a button or two for screenshots/recording.
Get yourself a play-and-charge kit and a chatpad for your existing controller.
I do believe mine is a HyperX Cloud Stinger Gaming Headset w/mic (over-ear). I bought them for $40 back in the fall and I've been loving them. Before them, I had the Microsoft Stereo Headset and loved that as well, but after two plus years of heavy use, the cord finally started to short out on me.
https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Stinger-Gaming-Headset/dp/B01L2ZRYVE/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=hyperx+cloud+stinger&qid=1558021088&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1
Nyko charge base $21 I own this and it last me a really long time with heavy gaming.
Microsoft play and charge kit $24
Nyko play and charge: 2 batteries $15 1 battery $6
I would recommend getting this remote. It makes using the Xbox as a media center a lot easier, plus it has x,y,a,b buttons.
You can get a 2tb external for $70. Far better value. A 4tb usually runs around $100.
XBL 12 month online code for $48 on Amazon, or an XBL 12 month card to be shipped out for $45. $3 more for instant access, or save the $3 for a few days wait.
Best overall tv for a budget
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y6FSV5Q?ref=emc_b_5_i
I have this one and i love it.
The best one is the talon remote. PDP Talon Media Remote for Xbox One https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GOK34SO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ehKIzbNRPVXZE
I vote for the play and charge kit. first, the official one uses a Lithium Ion battery, which is nice. second, swapping batteries in the middle of a gaming session is less convenient than plugging a cord in.
these are the best choices in my opinion:
2TB 5400rpm: http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Backup-Portable-External-STDR2000100/dp/B00FRHTSK4
or
1TB 7200rpm: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145919
Both of these are small compact drives and do not need an external power supply
There's a turtle beach one that's specifically made for the xbox one that's coming out in October. I believe that's the best there is as far as headsets specifically made for the xbox one
http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Stealth-Premium-Wireless-Xbox-One/dp/B00KSQACMM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1408234511&sr=8-1&keywords=turtle+beach+stealth+500x
Try using a wired connection. If that's a problem, buy a powerline adapter like I did. The adapters need to be plug straight into a wall socket, no surge or powerstrip. It's very easy to set up and now my xbox is wired straight into the modem in the living room, which is 80 feet away from where my xbox sits. It should help with the lagging situation since you are not using the console wirelessly. This is the one I have
http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-PA4010KIT-Powerline-Adapter-Starter/dp/B00AWRUICG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1408417532&sr=8-1&keywords=powerline+adapter
Definitely add an external HDD. I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/Black-Passport-Portable-External-Drive/dp/B01LQQH86A/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1WDQX79JPNSBA&keywords=4tb+usb+3.0+external+hard+drive&qid=1557950279&s=electronics&sprefix=4tb+usb%2Celectronics%2C175&sr=1-5
Highly recommended as the internal Xbox drive will fill up quickly.
The HyperX Cloud Stinger seems to be a great entry-level headset.
You can still get this one. I’ve had it for years and it’s great.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GOK34SO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_SxO5CbRKQH274
I have an antenna connected to my Xbox using this adapter: https://www.amazon.com/Hauppauge-Digital-Tuners-Capture-1578/dp/B00XF7Z5DM?th=1
Works great and gives a full TV Guide with channel listings and programming details.
I picked up one of these on sale for $35 a while ago. Works great.
The Kingston HyperX Cloud II headset is what your'e looking for. I just picked up a pair after seeing all the great reviews. They don't dissapoint.
http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Backup-Portable-External-STDR2000100/dp/B00FRHTSK4
I bought this on Black Friday and it has been working great.
Guessing you mean hard drive space for more games?
I use a older model of this which has worked great for the past 2 years or so. There's plenty to choose from
https://www.amazon.com/Black-Passport-Portable-External-Drive/dp/B01LQQH86A
I have the 2TB and 4TB models. Work very well. Just plug, transfer/save, and play!

I wouldn't blame MS, Micro usb is the standard for almost everything these days. Things seem to be slowly switch to USB-C, thank god.
Well OP also stated if it didn't work with the splitter that you also need to purchase:
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-EC250-Headphones-Adaptor-1249-0456/dp/B009HW15UG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1395760523&sr=8-1&keywords=omtp+to+ctia+adapter
May be worth a shot spending a couple of bucks instead of buying a new headset. Maybe buy it from a store that will allow you to return it if it doesn't work.
[Which is nice if you have that much disposable income] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00KSQACMM/ref=dp_olp_0?ie=UTF8&condition=all). The headset I linked to above was $30, mono ear (because I'm a dad I gotta have an ear for the kid) these were a god send. Not so much this generation
I have the turtle beach 500X stealth. I love them.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00KSQACMM/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1454281334&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=500x+stealth&dpPl=1&dpID=51XFViXEFhL&ref=plSrch
OK, so on the 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter that comes with the headset adapter, which site is CTIA and which is OMTP? The Female takes in OMTP and the male is CTIA, or the other way around?
So would the combination of this and this work?
Looks like amazon.ca still has them as well
HERE
$0.99 off the list price!
All you need is a 3.5mm headset. Almost any 3.5mm headset can be plugged into the controller and should worn. For your budget and situation, I would recommend the [Hyperx Cloud Stinger] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01L2ZRYVE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_q5cUCbNZRJJCD).
Hyperx headsets are very comfortable and this one has volume controls on the ear cups and you swing the mic boom up to mute.
It is an interesting accessory but I since I use my headphones a lot when using my Xbox console it wouldn't be enough. I need the 3.5 mm jack to use with my gamepad and this doesn't seem to have one.
Instead I added this headset + headset audio controller to my gamepad to have audio control as well as voice chat(with mic monitoring allowing you to hear yourself) control at my fingertips while using a headphone with my gamepad while sitting a few feet away in my couch.

Would something like this allow it to work?
PDP has the upcoming Talon Media Remote coming that has D-Pad and A, B, X, Y functionality as well as a number of other buttons not available on the OEM remote. It's also a full size remote unlike the OEM remote which can be awkward to hold due to it's smaller size. It'll undoubtedly be IR since there is no point in it not being so and not touting that fact.
Amazon says, October 16th but PDP's web site says December for a release date.

I would not be surprised if we see an OEM revision by the time the Scorpio is released. I have the existing OEM remote and the PDP model looks a lot better.

$4.16/month. And dedicated servers. And there will not be a free PS4 game every month. Whoever told you that is lying. It will probably be a while before they offer a free PS4 game on Plus.
And Sony said DRM will be left up to the publisher. Just like with Microsoft.
Sorry to hijack OP's post, but reading this thread really proves that I have no clue what TV I should be looking to buy.
I was recommended this TV from another post:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y6FSV5Q/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_5?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
Apparently this TV is Dolby Vision HDR which is not HDR10 so does that mean I shouldn't purchase this one and start looking elsewhere?
I was really satisfied with the price but if I'm going to spend 650 on the wrong TV I might as well spend more to get one with the right HDR.
As everyone else has said, HyperX Cloud Stingers are perfect and cheap.
I have the 860 Evo 1tb and bought the cheapest external case that Amazon had lol no tools required. Plug and play.

It's a little out of that budget right now, but it's worth it. You might want to wait until black Friday, too
I like the buttons for the chat adapter as well. I use Turtle Beaches adapter with my elite. It has built in mic monitoring and many other features.

You'd just as well get a powerline adapter, like this. It's worth looking into and you can keep the xbox wired! Also you could add a WiFi AP on the other end and get wireless in the part of the house that sucks.
Thanks for the reply. I just bought these. http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-MUYHSFMM-Headset-Splitter-Adapter/dp/B0058DOWH6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1426579653&sr=8-2&keywords=Startech.com+3.5mm+4+Pin+to+2x+3+Pin+3.5mm+Headset+Splitter+Adapter+-+M%2FF#Ask Same thing right?
That's why you have at least two sets. One set always fully charged in the wall charger, and the other set in your controller. It takes like 10-20 seconds to swap batteries.
Here's an Energizer set that includes a wall charger and four AA batteries for about $16. I used to use the Xbox One Play and Charge Kit, but it only has one pack, is more expensive ($25-$30), and I've found that those packs tend to wear down quicker than regular batteries. And there are a ton of people here who swear by Eneloop rechargeable batteries, but they're more expensive than the Energizer/Duracell options ($26-$36).
According to Amazon:

I can test tonight to confirm.
this one is pretty good
I just picked up some wireless ones; the Turtle Beach Earforce XO One's and they're pretty decent.
https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Force-Amplified-Gaming-Headset/dp/B00KSVXSZU
I second this!
And if you are able, get a Turtle Beach Audio Controller. It'll give you the ability to monitor your own voice as you're speaking with the Clouds. A solid combo.
I don't believe that is currently supported. If smartglass eventually comes to apple tv or other set top boxes then that could be a possibility.
Also, recordable OTA (DVR) was announced for 2016 at gamescom and playable on all windows 10 devices via xbox app.
The tuner you need from the video (your #1), http://www.amazon.com/Hauppauge-Digital-Tuners-Capture-1578/dp/B00XF7Z5DM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1453839910&sr=8-1&keywords=xbox+ota+tuner

Get those two things (cost less than one controller) and you'll never need to use the USB port again :)

Since I'm fairly new to this topic, could you explain what some of the features they leave out of this tv vs the higher end Sony, Samsung, and LG tvs might have? Is it signal processing, frame rate, etc?
Looking at this one:

You would like to get:
This will give coverage to your whole house. It will run you about ~ $60 dollars.
You can't buy Xbox Live Gold with your account balance. Never could. Never will.
OP, do you live in the United States? If so, here: https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Live-Month-Gold-Membership/dp/B002VBWIP6
You want a: 4 pin 3.5 to 2x 3.5 mm cable.
That will split your stereo headsets plug into 2 distinct plugs.
edit: Something that looks like this: http://www.amazon.ca/Startech-MUYHSFmm-Headset-Splitter-Adapter-F/dp/B0058DOWH6/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1407471693&sr=1-2&keywords=3.5mm+4-pin
Could be that your adapter mixes the lines together in OMTP standard (left, right, mic, ground), while the xbox stereo adapter likes the CTIA standard (left, right, ground, mic).
This is an adapter that can switch between the two (it just swaps the last two pins). (searched for CTIA OMTP adapter)
Actually don't buy that. It comes with the old style controller , it's actually cheaper to buy one of the new S style controller (better bumpers, bluetooth, headphone jack, and textured grip) and the play and charge kit separately, here's the links for those:
Controller,
Play and Charge
With the adapter, you can turn virtually any pair of headphones into a headset. I personally use my Audio Technica ATH-M50x's with a Zalman mic hooked up. Works very well. If you have a comfy pair of headphones that you already own, go with those.
You definitely can use regular headphones. If you have a pair without a built in mic, you can add one. I just added a mic to my AKG K550s with these:
