Woot! That's awesome! My two biggest tips are to (1) read the curriculum in advance and plan our your timing for sections. There are recommended times, but sometimes they don't fit into the realities of your location's schedule. Also, some coaches come in each day and are reading the curriculum as they go to figure out what's next, it's *much* easier to already be familiar with it. (2) Figure out great lap counters, I had the most success over several years of coaching with ribbon-style no-dent hair ties, girls got a hair tie each lap during practice, they wore them on their wrist and then counted and returned them. On the final practice, they got to keep the hair ties they got that practice. It was such a hit! We had girls show up to the 5k wearing every single hair tie they earned and the girls really did seem motivated to get hair ties in fun patterns/different colors (https://www.amazon.com/20-Crease-Hair-Ties-Assortment/dp/B00BROQU8Y)

That’s the type of tie in question, the knot always sits outside the hair. The only exception to this is if you’re crazy like me and do a bun by looping excess hair back over 500x. Still, never had hair get stuck in the knot.

You can’t yank them off your hair as fast or comfortably as the seamless, rounded ties, but they really have caused so much less breakage for me. When I’d yank the regular ties out, I’d lose 5-20 strands. When I carefully pull these off, I lose 0-3. Usually 0.

And they feel a lot better on your wrist too.
