I went with this ACER and have not had any issues. It runs GW2 fine (not Ultra obviously) but it runs Medium settings fine and before OMGZ!!! You got a U processor. It in no way affects any game I have played...if anything I enjoy my 7 hour battery life...which while playing GW2 is about 5:45.
I play perfectly fine on this. I also play FO4 on it also.

Would recommend this if you can wait a bit for it to release (it's been delayed a bit). And if you're tech savvy enough to install a 256GB SSD, it would make this machine fly. 512GB if you have cash to spare.

Yeah, stick with the 1080p Acer. It's overall a very good laptop for gaming at the price.
Is this the HD one you are referring to? Acer Aspire V 15 V3-572G-543S 15.6-Inch Full HD Laptop (Platinum Silver) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00R45UG3K/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_D.3-ub1XX483F is it truly worth the cost?
I play gw2 on a 6 year old tower with an old nvidia 280 graphics card with 8 gigs of ram. Gonna throw out a guess and say any laptop with a dedicated nvidia card will have enough power to run on medium to low graphics. Assuming the laptop is not 5+ years old.
here is something I found that might work out for ya. acer
This Acer Aspire V3-572G-51DR is under your budget at $576. It's display is only 1366x768 resolution but it's backed by NVidia's GT 840M graphics. The reviewer claims the keyboard is backlit though it's not stated on the spec-sheet.
If you can slightly bump your budget to $640, you can get the higher resolution (1920x1080) model with the same GPU. This notebook is the Acer Aspire V3-572G-543S. Again, the backlit keyboard is not listed in the specs but a reviewer from another source at this Amazon page also confirms that it has a backlit keyboard.
