Dark 'n' Stormy!

  • 2 oz Goslings Black Seal Rum (also works well with Barbencourt)
  • 5 oz ginger beer

Pour rum over ice, top with ginger beer. Garnish with lime wedge it you're feeling fancy.

I picked up this measuring glass at the grocery store. I made a black Sharpie marker line at 2 oz. Fill to 2 oz. with rum. Fill full 5 oz. with ginger beer. Could not be easier to make, even if you've had a few!

"Misfit! This is a true emergency! I hear some noise under my window and I am afraid it might be a monster! Please hurry! It is right where our trash cans are so it must be some sort of trash monster!!"

and Misfit and Shadow appear just in time to discover an adorable raccoon digging juice boxes out of the trash can...

I used to have the Anchor Hocking measuring glass but the markings started to chip off with extensive use.

Go to your nearest big box store and pick up a small measuring cup and an eye dropper. Each should have measurements in ml. These will make measuring a breeze. Depending on which method you're using, follow either of the top two links from their website respectively. Each measurement is based off one gallon. For example, if you're doing simple recirculating, you would use 10ml per gallon for week 3. Keep your proportions. Using week 3 again you'd use 10ml of micro, 10ml of gro, and 5ml of bloom. The instructions say to change your nutrient solution every 7-10 days. Since my plants don't seem to use a full serving in 7-10 days, I switch up my proportions and do a half or a quarter serving so my ppm isn't too high. My feeding would be 5ml of micro, 5ml of gro, and 2.5ml of bloom. Follow Lotus' advice and keep your pH between 5.5 and 6.5 or do a google search for optimal hydro pH range of your plant. Always start with micro.

They are definitely good for squeezing juice. They're even good for measuring as long as you know which parts to avoid. I like the tall (4-5oz) shot glass looking measuring glasses (like this, though I don't have this one in particular) which cost about the same but are less convenient because they don't have the handy angle.
