Funny you posted this. I just received my copy of Animal Farm : 1984 and started reading 1984 a few days ago. It certainly is creepy.
I would absolutely love this copy of Animal Farm and 1984.
Last night I had a dream where I fell in love with a guy named Bo (Beau) Hanson. I have no idea who that is but now I'm wondering if I should try to find someone with that name.

Animal Farm and 1984 by George Orwell have been put together into a beautiful hardcover, and although this is technically two books, they're both great books, and I haven't been able to see them in paperback individually. They have really deep and classic themes (for example, Animal Farm is George Orwell's satire/fable version of the Russian Revolution if it took place on a farm, and 1984 is a dystopian novel, with Orwell imagining what the world could be like in 1984 - it was written between 1944 and 1948, which makes it even more interesting and captivating!
Because you say one book, the book out of those two that I am recommending is, of course, 1984 :).

Obligatory wiki links: Dystopian Literature. Although, some of the titles listed don't seem to fit (The Dispossessed?). Nuclear holocaust fiction, and your general apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic fiction.
Some of the better/more popular ones:
Zombies: World War Z, Raise the Dead, Marvel Zombies, Zombie Survival Guide, Day By Day Armageddon, I Am Legend.
Also, just for kicks, some of my favorite dystopian movies:
Brazil, Soylent Green, 12 Monkeys, Blade Runner, Akira, Children of Men, Dark City, A Boy and His Dog, Logan's Run, Idiocracy, Equillibrium.
