The years was 2003 and I was 21 yrs old. I believe October. I used to listen to the Jeff Rense podcast on and off, about 2x a week.

I went to the local Borders bookstore I used to frequent (never liked B&N, too corporate) because of its GREAT metaphysical section (something BN to this day is very poorly stocked).

I saw this book with a spoon hovering and I thought to myself, "That gives me the vibe of The Matrix spoon." and the title was neat: "The Conscious Universe."

So, I grabbed it, and it alone, and went home. The time was 6:45 PM MST +/- 5 minutes.

10 minutes later, I got back home and I started reading the book while waiting for the Jeff Rense Show to come on that night. I didn't know who would be on, but it was usually pretty good.

When the program started, however, I was so engrossed in this book about research into how people are consciously affecting computers that I was barely paying attention to the radio show.

BUT THEN! I remember so vividly. I was sitting on my chair reading the words

Random Number Generator

at the exact same time that the guest on the radio said the words

Random Number Generator

and I JUMPED UP INTO THE AIR and shouted, SYNCHRONICITY!!!!

I then realized that the guest on the show was the EXACT SAME as the AUTHOR of the book I had bought 20 minutes before! DOUBLE synchronicity!

In fact, he was at that moment reading the intro to the book, on the air, at the exact same place I was currently at. TRIPLE SYNCHRONICITY!!

Anyway, the research is very very very related to Quantum Sliding and Our reality as a simulation and all sorts of stuff...

Go get it! Dr. Dean Radin's - The Conscious Universe!

This one could be a book you might have read in school. It's designed for kids and is written like a children's scrapbook full of letters from soldiers and notes about the war.

Here are a couple others that could also fit with what you remember...

Best of luck finding this! It sounds like an interesting book!

Striking new mandela effect with the name "Gottlieb". Some people have had their name changed to "Gottlob".

I found this striking example, a list of people named Gottlieb. Sure enough one of the individuals listed is now known as "Gottlob":

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gottlieb_(name)

  • Gottlob Heinrich Curt von Tottleben, German-born Russian general

A search online provides residue of others spelling his name as Gottlieb.

Philosopher "Gottlob Frege" is described as "Gottlieb" in this book description.

    https://www.amazon.ca/Frege-Introduction-Founder-Analytic-Philosophy/dp/0631222316

This name change effect provides some interesting examples of classical music mandela effects. Lesser-known classical composers Christian Gottlob Neefe and Daniel Gottlob Türk also had their names updated from Gottlieb. Turk is a composer of piano pieces that have been performed by many beginner pianists. I found tons of residue including books and recordings spelling Turk's name as "Gottlieb". Gottlob is unrecognizable and foreign spelling to me. There are many examples of his spelling "Gottlieb" Turk showing up on Amazon as well, exactly how I remember his name. Gottlieb Turk is also easy to find on YouTube with many recording his music and spelling his name this way.

It's "the" in both the movie and book title. I'm sure Anne Rice intended for it to be "the" but since it's pretty much interchangeable with "a" in this context, people aren't really going to challenge it.

Funny you posted this. I just received my copy of Animal Farm : 1984 and started reading 1984 a few days ago. It certainly is creepy.

There's a book called The Stranger Things: Paranormal, Supernatural and Unusual Phenomenon, I found a chapter in it that talks about the Mandela Effect. It's a light novel, 52 pages long. I found the book interesting. Just a suggestion.

On the misspell. Yes I picked but I could find no way to edit in here. Was really in a state of shock on finding picture instead of portrait.
I was doing a post on a completely different thing...... Fav old movies when I came across it.
SunsetGrr posted a link to the Amazon book
http://www.amazon.com/Portrait-Dorian-Gray-Picture-Readers/dp/1450541712
You will see in the title on the side it has both picture and portrait.
The picture of the book has only portrait. And in the description of it has portrait.
I know UK, Ireland well. Not even today would you call a painting a picture. Try googling it. A painting is always a panting. It might be a panting of a landscape, an interior etc.
A painting of someone is always referred as a portrait. Whether that be a panting or a professional photograph portrait. Thought the latter in more modern times often will be referred to others as a picture.
Just as an example in the Victorian era when Dorian Gray was written a photograph was referred to as a Portriat. Here is one example https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-mortem_photography
Which mentions portraiture of a photograph and a painted portrait.
I also went to art school and do paint portraits. When I tell people I paint they will often ask what I do, portraits, still life's or landscape.

I actually have the book and think it changed the name - like interview with a vampire - I even asked one of the moderators of a local horror club about the vampire thing (for this one I am sure too it changed, because I bought some anthologies that had this book title as recommended other books by the same publishers on some of the back pages).

u/TylonDane · 0 pointsr/MandelaEffect

I'm sure having read Old Yeller I wouldn't think the dog's name was Yellow even though that's obviously what the dog's name was, without the dialect.

And if "picture" were the correct word, "portrait" shouldn't show up anywhere.

This probably will not be a very accepted idea because 1) it requires people to be cognizant of the "soul" or "spirit" or other spiritual aspects of the human being. So, all atheists are out the window and 2) People will think that this is just lucid dreaming because that's what's been used to explain away astral projection.

However, I will posit your theory.

Astral projection to a different time MIGHT be possible. I've never done that before to my knowledge. However, I did read in Psychic Warrior that the main character had multiple bilocational remote viewing sessions that involved time travel.

The question now becomes is the information read-only or can it actually be affected?

If this were the case, then these time traveling astral projectors are employing one more technique - telepathic suggestion. This would be the only way because you really cannot affect the physical in an astral projected state, but you can influence the minds of the physical entities you encounter, which would carry over to them believing they thought of it.

And this is actually somewhat of a credible theory for me personally because most of these mandela effects are rooted in some detail that could easily have been changed in a design meeting.

The problem with this idea though is that it really cannot account for purely physical changes like geography. Personally, I have no mandela effect experience with this, so I'm not exactly sure what's going on there.

To wrap this up, due to the rise in occult understanding and practical witchcraft these days, your theory does have some merit, but I remain unconvinced that it explains the entire phenomenon outright. There are multiple facets to this thing, and I think it goes a little deeper than just kids playing with guns.

I found one listing with the DIARY OF ANNE FRANK title on amazon, but this is the only one I've been able to find. You should order it and when it arrives see if it has the same title or if it altered by the time you receive it.

With the additional context in parenthesis, I will go on the assumption that all the pronoun 'It's are referring to Quantum Computers (QCs).

The specific theory that was the original goalpost that you had set for accepting that there is a possibility of planes interacting and information crossing over is gone into in great detail in this book written by one of the inventors of the field of Quantum Computing:

https://www.amazon.com/Fabric-Reality-Parallel-Universes-Implications/dp/014027541X

I can't help but feel that you are trying to move the goal post from a specific theory to a Scientific Law which takes hundreds of years to get to.

One of the founders of the field of Quantum Computers explicitly states that how his computers are designed to operate is to collaborate with other versions of themselves in the superposition.

The fact that he made a prediction about particles interacting with themselves in other universes and that he could use this interaction to process information back in the 80's and later demonstrated it by producing working computers means that this fits the criteria for specific scientific theory (hypothesis, prediction + results match prediction).

This is demonstrated and applied science at this point. Other people can come up with other hypotheses about alternate ways to explain the results, but none of those have made predictions, that have been experimentally tested and results confirming those predictions, which make them weaker in the current scientific body.

Since I doubt you will read the book, I will provide a Cliff Note version for how Superposition and Multiverse work according to the strongest theories with the most evidence currently.

Initially the rigorously observed phenomenon that super position states exist and that they collapse into classical behavior when a hard measurement is taken was thought of as a fuzzy state that disappears after the probability wave has collapsed.

The more modern explanation for this which the creators of the quantum computer ascribe to is that the superposition state doesn't ever go away and just our ability to actively OBSERVE/MEASURE/INTERACT with other planes only happens when we can repeat the same action repeatedly to observe probability distributions. What was previously thought of as a wave form collapsing just means that after taking the measurement the superposition of planes expands to cover the measuring device.

For example, (double slit experiment) if a particle is being sent 1 at a time through 1 of 2 slits and we add a measurin device to determine which slit it went through, the reason the interference pattern appears to disappear for us is that the superposition of states went from just the particle in superposition to the observer, the measuring device and the particle are all in superposition, and all 3 (including the Scientist observing results) is in superposition, so from the Scientist's point of view it appears that the wave has collapsed and a particle went through the right slit, BUT he doesn't realize that he is now in superposition and there is another version of him that has observed the particle going through the left slit, along with a superpositioned measuring device displaying results which represents the entangled environment that fits the outcome according to classical physics.

From inside a probability wave you only see the results of one of the probable scenarios playing out according to classical physics and other probable outcomes in the past are undetectable to you.

From outside the probability wave you can see particles and classical objects as large as a piezoelectric turning fork interfering and interacting with themselves and their other probabilistic states.
