I'd try asking if you could size up, or ask for diaper doublers.
My favorite creams are Butt Paste and Aquaphor. However, since you're using a service, check with them regarding creams. Sometimes creams can leave residue on the diapers.
How long does he sleep through the night? If he's still getting up every couple hours, just plan on changing him each time. If he's sleeping for longer periods of time (6 hours +) at night, you could try using wool covers in addition to the fitted diaper (I'd bulk up the diaper a little with prefolds or doublers). I like EcoPosh wool covers.
