I use this toner cartridge: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UYGB6JO
It's not noticeable from the OEM toner, and it's half the price, $13 each.
Extra rant because I'm bored:
I choose this printer for it's reliability, and availability, It seems like a well built machine, and it's always got toner because it's so damn cheap, Inkjet's suck IMO, they won't even print B/W if one of the colors is too low down, each time I'd go buy ink for it, $60-$70 for INK! INK! I'm not buying liquid gold, I'm buying INK!
Buying this printer for $120 was probably one of the smartest purchases I've made, No more having to pay HALF OF WHAT THE LASERJET MACHINE COSTS each time I run out of magenta.
I would recommend a printer B/W minimum because there will be moments where you need printouts asap and going to the library/engr everyday just to print is a pain. The brother laser B/W printer is super cheap. One toner cartridge lasts me a year for $11.

If you really need color:
You can enroll this in HP instant ink where they send you ink cartilages when you run out for $7-10/mo depending on how many pages you print. The $10/mo is like 500 pages
