If you want to read the QDS novels, please buy them. Bento Books and Kevin Frane deserve all the money.
I think DDS is my favorite spinoff/subseries/game in the metaseries so far... I'd prefer to just leave it be, but there is the series of books by the script writer which apparently go into much greater detail than the games. I ought to check it out before it's out of print and absurdly expensive....
