Softphone feature for the desktop.
Softphones are great for those that need to be tied to a desk all day. Nearly any headset will work, just a mic and headphone. The last job I worked was work from home support desk like job. We had physical VoIP phones, but I opted for the softphone as I had a wireless headset. Sony makes these wireless TV headphones that last over 20 hours. Get something like that if you want to last an entire 12 hour shift and then some.
Also softphones are cheaper to supply and more headset to choose from. We have banana shaped handsets.
