That's actually what kept me from backing it in the first place. I love Mega Man with all my heart; I have a physical copy of all the Mega Man, MMX, MMZ, MMZX, and even MML games. I have a Mega Man keychain on my keys. Hell, this adorable mother fucker is on my desk as we speak. When I heard that Inafune was making a new "Mega Man" game on his own because Capcom has decided to neglect my favorite Blue Bomber, I was so fucking excited.
But then some early gameplay came out, and instead of the wonderful, creative, and detailed level design and background that I was expecting from a Mega Man successor, it looked like a 2010 mobile game or a late-stage PS1 game. Red flag. I thought, "eh, it's already funded, I'll wait a bit and see if it really comes together like I hope it will."
And here we are. But the sting of the MNo9 failure is too strong to be healed by my foresight.
