I have this problem too but deodorant doesn’t work for me. Look up bandalettes or Monostat makes an anti-chafing cream that feels like baby powder. Those are my go to solutions. Both work beautifully for my thick thighs.

PSA for thigh chaffing: I'm personally not a fan of the bike shorts method they are hot, your underwear sometimes bunches under them, and you can often see a line from the waistline under dresses. I recently purchased these and they are great. I was very skeptical, but figured it was worth a try. I've worn them all day a couple of times now in pretty intense heat and humidity and they stay in place and do exactly what they say they will, I honestly forget I'm wearing them. I used their size chart and found it to be accurate, very happy with them and will buy again.

I gave up on shorts and skirts like, 25 years ago. However, when they need to be worn, I use anti-chafing powder (goes on like a gel and feels like powder) or bandalettes.

I think I may be confused, so please correct me---

You want the security and comfort of modern undies, and you're adding the bloomers to prevent chafing, but all the layers and climate are a concern?

My suggestion would be to wear the bloomers under your modern undies (which could feel really weird, I imagine, but would let you pull them down) - OR, if the bloomers are made like the link below, instead of an elastic waistband, would something tied be an option? You can untie them and drop with your undies?

If you want to get rid of the bloomers, thigh bandelettes are a thing. I've never worn them, but they have pretty good reviews on Amazon. (4 stars with over 4,000 reviews)

With all your layers and difficulty bending, a Bridal Buddy may be useful, but you may need a bridesmaid or friend to assist you with getting everything gathered up. (I can't bend much when wearing corsetry, but you may find it easier. :) )

At any rate, that's all I could think of with my grasp of the issue, your dress sounds absolutely beautiful, and I hope you find a solution that works!

edit: one of my links didn't insert properly. :)

There are the ones!

Bicycle shorts sound like a better alternative to my current situation, but maybe I should have sized down lol. Hope these work for you!

I have a few sets of thigh bands similar to this & I LOVE them. I tried a few creams / roll on products made for what I call my "chub rub", but my skin did NOT like it, have me a rash every time. Plus It feels secretly sexy ☺
