I had a problem last year and had a shit load of them.
I got this and it got nearly all of them in just a couple days.
You have to make sure you find what ever they're spawning from though, or they'll just keep reproducing.
Fruit usually helps. I once threw a couple cut up strawberries in the fruit fly trap and I saw a huge difference. Last summer it got pretty bad at my house (bad judgement on sublet) and we ended up ordering BEAPCO fruit fly traps. Those were magic.
Something as simple as this would clear'm out (I had this problem last year). I put them around the kitchen for about 4-5 days. Haven't seen any since.

This is the link to the ones I bought. They arrive tomorrow though so will post about if they work next week
I had the same problem with fruit flies and I got these from amazon (linked at the bottom).. they worked really well. I did not have ants though so I don’t know about that. It didn’t seem to bother my green cheek or my sun, they just landed in the water bowl sometimes and died, which was gross.

If you want a ready made solution, buy these: http://www.amazon.com/BEAPCO-6-Pack-Drop-Ins-Fruit-Traps/dp/B00CRYOPMQ/
Terro also works but they are more expensive.
I had these in my kitchen and used these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CRYOPMQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They were extremely effective.
That said, the pineapple thing is a meme.
Have used these fly traps for past 2 years when we get them and they work like a charm
Sent this to OP via PM, hut it may be helpful to others. I had a huge issue several weeks ago. Now gnat / fruit-fly free.
HTH.
Do you have any potted plants -- either indoors or out? Found out that mine were breeding in potted plants on my porch & then flying inside. Applied Sevin Dust to the soil for all of my plants.
Also, I got these for inside. They work amazingly well.

And these:
Decorator Window Fly Glue Traps - Non-Toxic - 8 Sheets https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003NYYXPI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_GmpwxbEKEDEBW
Sevin Dust eliminated them outside. The traps did a great job catching the remaining ones inside.
Before buying these traps, I bought the lil ones that looks like apples. They didn't work nearly as well as the BEAPCO ones.
