What a pile of Bissell PR that gif is.

That is not a steam cleaner. They don't make good steam cleaners that look like push vacuums. That is Bissell's wet carpet vacuum. It just uses hot water, and as an owner, I can report is it a PIECE OF SHIT.
It doesn't clean carpets that well. This is an ad showing the logo prominently. Those carpets were dusted with an easily removable dirt for the commercial.

If you want to steam clean your carpet, get a professional. They will bring out a panel truck that has a huge hose coming out of it.

This is the one I bought

It’s a SMALL unit however.

It’s not the best for doing large areas and it doesn’t heat the water like larger more expensive units.

But, it’s small, affordable, extremely easy to use, and does a rather good job.

It’s best for picking up after dog accidents and kids spilling juice.

Beats the rag method.

I have a cat with IBD (not the pukey one I talked about in another comment, I'm so lucky, I was blessed with two cats with IBD), she fucking used to shit every. damn. day on the floor (I felt like giving her away at times). I get it, it sucks so bad. Finally, after thousands in vet bills, we found a prescription diet that fixed the problem (mostly).

Anyway, I'm going to be the one that asks

Does he do this often? I'm guessing not, or you'd likely mention that. If he keeps peeing on stuff and not the litterbox, get him checked out. My older cat did this, he ended up being blocked with urinary crystals. It could just be a simple UTI, but since he's a HE, blocking can definitely be possible.
Anything change recently that would piss the cat off? Try feliaway diffusers to see if it will calm him down.

If you haven't hit that pissed on stuff with Nature's Miracle or something, try it or try the hydrogen peroxide/water/baking soda mix (google). I broke down and bought the Bissell Deep Clean Pet Carpet Cleaner and it's awesome. It's removed everything from cat piss, cat shit, old milk spills and potty-training pee from the rug, bed, couch, etc... It even got out old pee smell from a rug I had.

I used to work at a vet's office for years and I've had a few problematic cats in my lifetime, feel free to ask me any more questions if you want any more advice or you know, internet hugs, I know what it's like.
