/r/fountainpens is neat but be aware you will not be able to do this kind of writing with a fountain pen. You also won't be able to do what many people think of "calligraphy" (german style lettering that has thick and thin parts) with a fountain pen.

If dip pens are a little scary for a beginner, try getting the Pilot Parallel calligraphy pen. Very simple like a fountain pen, dead cheap and you'll be able to do lots of calligraphy with them.

However, dip pens are super cheap and fun to play with. You can get a nice nib, nib holder and ink for $20 on Amazon. Calligraphy is a very cheap hobby to get into.

A profile tool like this https://www.amazon.com/General-Tools-833-10-Inch-Contour/dp/B000E36098 makes quick work of it. I use 1 for auto body work to match 1 side to the other perfectly. Also great for laying wood floor and matching the molding.

Right right.

Saw this and was interested where something like this could be picked up.

Turns out, it appears to be a rather expensive set from Joseph Joseph sold for ~$50 from their site and Target's.

Checked Amazon and it appears that it's available for a bit less on Amazon. Check it out, if like me, you were interested: https://www.amazon.com/Joseph-40031-Measuring-Dishwasher-Multicolored/dp/B006BSBRWK

Darn. It sounded cool. I'm not sure what area you're in, but I use Bar Keepers Friend on just about everything I can, and it works great. I don't have any cool copper stuff I can test it on, but it might be worth a shot.

u/Ketrel · 104 pointsr/oddlysatisfying

Not overly. Gold is super malleable so it can be made hella thin.

Not hard to find or obtain either: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GOFXI8K

edit: far better deal

A tube wringer or tube crimper. Here's an Amazon link for one that my sibling bought me as a Christmas gift (as they always squeezed the tube from the center and drove me insane). They got it half-jokingly, half-serious, but it's seriously such a great tool and I get every last bit of toothpaste out.

u/itsgo · 1 pointr/oddlysatisfying

That's a Pilot parallel pen, used for calligraphy! Pretty neat.

u/ThatBitterJerk · 3 pointsr/oddlysatisfying

$10 for 30 sheets sounds like a great novelty. If someone starts complaining about their financial situation around me, I'll just pull a pack out of my wallet and start eating the sheets.

u/BB-r8 · 3 pointsr/oddlysatisfying

Well you're in luck you can one for $18.

u/MoneyTreeFiddy · 1 pointr/oddlysatisfying

They are even more satisfying in person, a button on top seals them-

Now that they're sold out thanks to /u/Dadalot everyone can run and buy out this much classier one!

For those interested, I think this is the heavy duty tube wringer.

u/blankblank · 5 pointsr/oddlysatisfying

I got this thing for $5: Feather Styling Razor Disposal Case. Holds 200 blades and is a little safer than a pill bottle.

u/useful_idiot · 5 pointsr/oddlysatisfying

TIL. I’ve been using the feather 10 packs for almost a year now and didn’t realize you could put old blades back in the case. That being said I did buy this Disposable case

5 millilitres to 4.5 litres for those of us who don't live in Liberia or Myanmar...

u/unclefishbits · 2 pointsr/oddlysatisfying

ORRRRRrrrrrr spend $10 and keep 'em in your freezer. --> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007ACTN54/

I want to see the machine that makes the larger cube from an even larger cube for the sphere.

Also, in the future, people will look at YouTube, when we have absolutely no available water, and think we are savages.

u/TorazChryx · 1 pointr/oddlysatisfying

It's cheaper in [Grey] (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Joseph-Nest-Compact-Food-Preparation/dp/B00B1D57EE/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1420855300&sr=8-4&keywords=joseph+joseph+nest)

Although I paid even less than that for mine. (£12.60 !)

It's also available in metal, but is kinda... pricey as hell.
