This is what I got about three years ago and it's still going strong! Looks like it jumped up in price though! It was only 60 when I got it and it was a lightning deal which brought it down to 51.

I also have a mat and didn't like it as much, I used the mat on a table to do a 2k puzzle and since it was my first time using it, the folded seams really made it difficult, plus by then I was already so used to the wood surface of my board and the felt was hard to get used to.
My friend also just went to home depot and got herself some particle board in a certain size and that's what she used. I much more prefer my board to her solution though.
The actual surface to put your puzzle on will only be 30.5 x 21. My wife wanted to buy this, but I told her that I could build it cheaper than what they were selling it for.
