13 years ago, I went through three blenders in under a year - one died, one smoked out, and one's blade disintegrated into my smoothie (yuck!). Then I saw a video of that dude blending a rake in his blender & knew I had to have one:

I spent a year saving up for one & finally got it. I've used it every week since 2007 & it hasn't let me down yet! It's been one of the longest-running tools in my kitchen, actually! I beat on it quite a bit (including regular ice crushing!) & it still works just as good as the day I got it! There is an ENORMOUS difference between a good-quality blender like a Vitamix or Blendtec that can actually liquify & puree ingredients and a regular blender that just chops stuff up, but leaves small chunks or gritty pieces or struggles with blending.

One time, I wanted to make a lazy omelet, so I blended up a bunch of eggs, then got the bright idea to throw in some ham slices to get chopped up without having to cut the meat by hand. Boy was that a mistake...it literally liquified the meat. I had a pink omelet with zero chunks in it, lol! Tasted good, but was a little hard to swallow, hahahaha.

I have nothing but good things to say about the brand. It works as advertised! If you want pro-quality smoothies at home like a smoothie shop or Jamba Juice, then Blendtec is the way to go. I did do a couple upgrades over the years...I got the 90oz Wildside+ jar (36oz blending capacity, great for blending large amounts of ingredients) & the smaller Twister jar, which is better suited for single-serve smoothies. I use it to puree & blend all kinds of stuff...soups, bisques, smoothies, whole juices, milkshakes, ice cream base, protein shakes, salsas, salad dressings, etc.

The price isn't for the faint of heart, but I'm on year 12 of using it & it hasn't hiccuped yet, so if you are ever looking for a ridiculously awesome blender, then Blendtec is it!
