Honestly, it really depends on how much you'd use it & what you want to use it for. I got tired of cheap blenders breaking & doing a crappy job. I've had my Blendtec for over a decade and it's still running strong! For cost justification, a medium Jamba Juice costs like five bucks around here, so it pays for itself after 20 smoothies!

The only downside of the Blendtec, other than the price, is that it sounds like a weedwhacker. SUPER noisy! I wake up early & it woke my family up when I was using it in the morning the first week haha. They do sell a pro-grade sound enclosure, but that model is like $800:
