I got this suction cup mount and placed it in the bottom left corner of my windshield. When you open the driver side door, there's a panel on the dash that you can take off using some pry tools (I used plastic pry tools so I don't damage anything) and slip the wire through a small hole to the OBD2 port. It was a little tricky to get the wire through but you end up with a really clean look where the only exposed cable is coming out of the door to the Accessport. Picture of my setup
If you want a mount but don't want to spend $65 for the Cobb a-pillar mount, this is the way to go. $12 shipped with Prime.

This way I can just take it on/off my lower left windshield whenever I please. Basically, once you monitor the values you need to out of the gate, you can disconnect the AP and the tune still remains. I had mine mounted for a few weeks, and once I confirmed that I had no knock, DAM stayed at 1, I removed it. Here and there I mount it just to fiddle with some of the more fun options.

I live in AZ so the stock 3M fell right off in the summer. Go with this suction mount and put it on the bottom left of your windshield. Then route the cable down your steering column. Works like a charm
