Marine veteran here. Though I am no longer active duty, I still keep a pretty active lifestyle. My Casio of choice is the STL-110H "Tough Solar".
Most people don't realize that the term 'Tough Solar' essentially means that these watches are made to the same toughness standard as the G-Shock line. Mine has withstood dirt, sand, water(swimming/diving for hours at a time), random impacts, scraping against concrete, and two weeks in dim light without looking any worse than when I took it out of the box. Does exactly what I want, is fairly intuitive to set, and never needs a new battery.
The only thing I could possibly knock would be that the buttons aren't recessed, but that's pretty trivial.
Never with the exception of maybe having to replace the rechargeable battery a few years down the road.
