If we are just going out to the store, or to and from daycare, I use this thin, but lined with fleece, Columbia Jacket. I got it on sale for $14. I'm in Seattle, so we can get away with a fleece/sweater and this jacket unless we are outside playing for a long time. Then we pull out the big gun puffer.
