I have a 2012 Kindle Fire. The Comixology app is available in the Amazon market. I've used that to buy/download/read a number of comics on the Fire. I'm not a huge comics guy, so I don't know how up-to-date Comixology is (i.e., do they offer new releases weekly like comic stores do?) You can probably browse comixology.com and get a feel for what they offer when. Additionally, any comics you can buy via Amazon should work natively in the Fire. I have a few I've bought from there (again, older issues).

I also have a few comics in PDF format that I've transferred to the Fire. There's a $3 app called ComiCat that can read PDFs, as well as the other CBR, CBZ, etc. formats. So if you get your digital comics from somewhere else, you should be able to transfer them to the Fire and read them via this app.

Hope that helps some.

Edit: Just noticed you said "free comics and manga". If you get your free books from elsewhere and they're in standard formats (PDF, CBR, CBZ) then you should be able to download them to your computer, then transfer them to the Fire and read them with the app I mentioned above. If you're talking about finding pirated copies of books, I have no idea. Sorry.

there are three different torrents here, but they are probably .cbr format. I would just download a .cbr reader for your fire. I use comicat on mine www.amazon.com/Meanlabs-Software-ComiCat/dp/B004UBB1HQ it works pretty well.

I have the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, so I can't speak to the size of the 7". That said I use ComiCat for my cbr files (and my Pathfinder PDFs too :)). It's a great interface for reading comics.

If you haven't rooted/installed Android Market, here is a reader from the Amazon Market that I have used successfully on the Fire: ComiCat. While I have rooted mine and installed the Android Market stuff, this app worked before I did all that.

Yeah you should be able to find it there. If not here's a link for it on Amazon. Unfortunately it isn't a free app but it's the best one you can find for viewing CBZ comic files in my opinion.
