Clay! It can be anything!!!

I love two things in comics and they both involve endings. A definitive ending and when the villain wins. I hate the whole WE SHALL MEET AGAIN BORING SUPERHERO!!! And then it happens over and over and gets more dull with every encounter (notable exception being The Joker). And also, the hero wins too often, to the point where it is expected. What did you think was going to happen, he was the hero. But when the villain wins, it makes the reader/viewer question who was the real hero, what's going to happen next? Take Watchmen for example. Ozymandias killed millions of people, including The Comedian, and made life hell for others. Why? To bring about world peace. His "evil plan" ended up saving the planet. Was he even the villain, or was he a greater hero than the other Watchmen? That's how a one-time comic story that's almost 30 years old still has such a cult following, it was different.
