My work space is moving to a shared area and I want to quiet my keyboard.

Currently have a Das Model S for mac. Do I:

Interested in getting my first mechanical keyboard

  • $101-150 price range

  • all-purpose: coding, writing, light gaming

  • medium to low clackiness (brown keys?)

  • good for use with a mac

  • no frills; compact; functional

I briefly had a Das Keyboard 4 Professional but sent it back immediately because a) it was a bit high that would make me have to either float or bend my wrists to use and would probably need a separate wrist rest. and b) I also did not like how deeply one has to press a key to actually "press" it. Are all mechs like this? Still looking to give mechanical keyboards a chance though.

edit: a lot of the pictures on this subreddit seem like they could work, though many seem to be custom made

The Apple keyboard isn't shit, but it's not mechanical and you can have FAR better for only $30 more, the Das Keyboard.
