The overly simplistic solutions of others annoys me as well. I adopted a whole food diet - fruits, veggies, legumes, and seeds. No processed, no fast, no junk food. Taking supplements and probiotics to fill in the gaps. Changing my pillowcase obsessively. Drinking water like a fish. Trying every product and routine this sub recommended, and still, breaking out like I was 16.

Who would have guessed that it would take brimstone to break this cycle of bullshit. It's different for everyone.

It's sticky and thick and smelly, but it really worked for me. Plus, you don't have to sleep in it, you take it off just after 10 minutes :)

It may have also been due to SLS or SLES! I recently switched over to Vanicream cleanser, $7 and 10% sulfur ointment, $8 as recommended as my curology provider and a lot of the irritation and texture is slowly beginning to fade from my face. Also, I read that snail mucin is excellent for hydration; Cosrx snail 96 mucin is only 15 bucks on Amazon. No fragrance or SLS for me anymore...

This sulfur ointment face wash/mask helps clear up flare ups surprisingly well.

I found it after reading through as many personal experience stories I could via google. It smells like eggs unfortunately but I use it at night and I’ll take a stinky, but clearer face, any day.
I tried the antibiotics but I’ve never been able to take it for more than a week or so, it makes me so nauseous, I’ve puked it up twice.
My PD is thankfully now minor but seems to creepy back when I am especially stressed. It started over a year ago :(

Oh, and I use natural coconut oil on my face as a moisturizer as it has natural antibiotic properties to it.

I've also found Dela Cruz Ointment to be really effective on cystic acne for when I can't go to the derm, it seems to stop a cyst in its tracks--not sure if this would help in this case but might come in handy in the future!

Yes it will get on your pillowcase, but at least it doesn't bleach like BP. :)

For very inflamed and painful deep pimples, I like to alternate the warm compress with an ice pack. This is a common technique for helping sports injuries heal, and I've found it very helpful for acne as well!

I use both acids and retin-A, however, I give my skin a break between their use. For example, on Monday I use retin-A, rest Tuesday, on Wednesday I use the AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution from the Ordinary, rest Thursday, etc.

Be sure you’re waiting at least 30-45 minutes after washing your face to apply retin-A as it can irritate your skin if applied before then. I wait 10-15 minutes after applying retin-A and add a sleeping mask on top of it.

Be careful—the sulfur ointment can dry your skin out so to start I left it on for five minutes then built up over time. I use it in the morning and make sure to apply lots of moisture and sunscreen afterwards! Hope this helps!

I don't mean DIY turmeric masks. There are cosmetic products with turmeric extract or tetrahydrocurcuminoids.

what up bro. If you use blade, i'd recommend having a two or one blade for reasons others have already mentioned. Preferably cheap disposable razors for the sake of sanitation. I use shaving soap (this brand: van der hagen) which you can find walmart and likely other stores for less than $5.

Simple Routine:

• I also shave like once every 3 or 4 days and my skin actually gets significantly better after shaving with razor & soap.
  
• I always shave after a shower.
  
• Instead of using after-shave splash, i just use some salt-water to sanitize. Burns if you nick'd yourself lmao
  
• And as moisturizer i use a bit of water and vaseline, or just apply vaseline to a damp face.
  
  I try to avoid shaving over an active pimple and wait for it to dry and flake off - i use this to hasten the process and honestly treat an active areas, even cystic possibly hormonal acne. However, you are on accutane which kinda does that and more so your "break-outs" are probably just temporary side-effects right? I think that's what they call "purging"
