make sure you have an idea what monitor you want. For $2000 you're likely looking at $400-800 into a monitor.
Do you want 1440p144hz, Ultrawide and curved, 1080p144hz? gotta decide that - youtube videos can help here. For example this or this.

Also know what games you want to play?

Decide then go there and give them that info!

if you're more into competitive games, 1080p144hz is awesome and will help keep your budget down. If you love tomb raider and Witcher and Skyrim and stuff, you'll never go back from the Ultrawides imo!

You also need to think about your preferences on speakers/headphones, keyboards, mice.

Seeing as how I "only" have a 980 ti, and value fps over higher resolutions, I also chose 2560x1080 144hz+ and gsync. The LG is nice, but I spent a bit more and got the alienware variant. It has a longer warranty (3 years vs the LG's 1) and dell's advance rma service. No regrets; it's a beautiful monitor. Gsync is heavenly and 144hz is buttery smooth.

With a 1080 ti you'll be pushing everything to max settings and hitting the fps ceiling. :-)

Um, make sure you got the AW3418DW, I went back to see if the price had dropped further and it hadn't so I fear you may have accidentally purchased the AW3418HW from here which is a significantly different deal, as its a 1080x 2560 instead 1440 by 3440.

I've never had to research an ultra-wide, so don't know myself, but it looks like these options that are near the top:

Dell Aleinware 34" 3440x1440p 120 Hz IPS monitor

Acer X34 Predator 34" 3440x1440p 120Hz IPS monitor

AOC Agon AG352UCG 35" 3440x1440p 100Hz VA monitor

Asus ROG PG348Q 34" 3440x1440p 100Hz IPS monitor

All 3 have G-sync, and nearly comparable specs. Some websites have rated the Alienware as the best ultrawide, while others have rated the X34. Problem is, they're pricey as hell on Amazon (pretty much twice the price of 27" 1440p monitors!), and I don't know many other websites that sell them for cheaper. You'll need to do a bit of research if you want to buy them at a good price. Probably check local stores, or contact the company websites directly if you don't have any local stores.

If you're seeing $899 USD on Amazon, you're likely looking at the 1080p version rather than the 1440p version ($979). The 1440p is actually $859 over at Newegg's eBay store though.

Ultra wide 1080p, but other than that, you are correct.

Updated Amazon Link.

It's a bit of a waste of money though.

For less you could've gotten a PG278QR and the same width in resolution but 1440p in height. And still with 160Hz refresh rate.

Edit: Nevermind, OP's UW is in 1440P so that's fine, looks like product page on amazon isn't up to date. But a 1080P ultrawide would've been a bad buy.
