Can someone explain to me why the hell Nintendo games are so fucking expensive?

Discount price: $48

You save: $0.03

Discount price: $33.58

Discount price: $44

Other developers' games for the same platform are much much cheaper than Nintendo's own games. Why?

Also now available at Amazon.com for the same price.

Fire Emblem Awakening, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Donkey Kong Country: TF and a few Amiibos. I already have a backlog of Wii U games such as both Bayonettas, Smash and Hyrule Warriors to get through.

Also on sale over at Amazon for $40

Surprisingly Pikmin 3 is the most, but $39 isn't bad for a new release and all are under the $59 price point. I use Amazon for the going rate because who in their right mind would pay $59.99 at walmart or best buy for something they can get from Amazon with free shipping and no tax for less?

Let's just use amazon prices:

Wii U Deluxe w/ NSMBU & NSLU - $293.87

Wii U Pro COntroller - $40.99

Batman Arkham City: Armored Edition - $15.99

Assassin's Creed 4 - $25.49

Madden 13 - $11.99

Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD - $41.40

Super Mario 3D World - $50.66

Assassin's Creed 3 - $14.61

007 Legends - $9.95

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze - $43.99

Black Ops 2 $12.49

ZombiU - $14.99

That brings us to a total of $576.42.

He could have bought the games on discount from Toys R Us which has many discounted games plus buy one get one 60% off.

Also could have gotten the buy 2 get 1 free at Target a week ago. YOu could also price match that sale, all though many stores were hesitant to do that.

Hey, thanks for the contest!! :)

This .mp3 is my cheapest item!

Something else I really want is Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, which released a few months ago and looks like so much fun!! :)

Looks like you'll be buying one this year then.

I don't. On the eShop and the official Nintendo website, there is no price listed. And it's extremely common for Amazon to put a placeholder price. They want to increase their profits by taking pre-orders, so they have the page up even though the price hasn't been revealed.

In fact, the price history for DKTF on Wii U shows that it started out at $60 (placeholder) before being lowered to $50 when the actual MSRP was revealed. This clearly, definitively happens, and has happened in the past, with the exact same game!! Why you think placeholder prices don't exist is beyond me.
