Try a dry body brush. It has been helping me. I get the same thing. Do you have curly hair (on your head)? I do and wonder if people with curly hair are more prone to it.

I find your advice with being comfortable with your genital region very important. Even shaving in the anal region well I sit in good lighting and put a towel under me get out the shaving cream and use a razor. It's the only way to get everything if you are worried about it. You notice you miss a lot generally in the shower to be hairless. Also around the anus go with the the grain of the skin not the opposite direction.

If anyone here doesn't want to wax...
I use an electric razor, this one. Cheap and effective.

I use it for the pubic patch area (courser hair) and I never get ingrown hairs and razor shave the rest of the crotch area and the bikini line. Another good thing if you use this razor on the patch area just buy a dry brush like this

You can make the tiny hairs under the skin come out before shaving and you are smooth. You don't even have to shower first to get a smooth shave. I usually wait 2 days maybe 3 to do it again.
Also I never wear underwear unless I'm on my period. This helps a lot with ingrorowns. I never have any.

Would love to try waxing though. Just hate letting it grow out that much.

Personally I like my body hair so I don't shave at all, but if I did it would go...

Before shower - Dry brush (https://www.amazon.com/Dry-Skin-Body-Brush-Circulation/dp/B00LIBEBTG)

During shower - Shave with some shaving cream or oil, then soap up and rinse

Right out of the shower - Apply lotion to damp skin, put on some comfortable clothes and let yourself soak it up

If waxing helps, look into DIY waxing. The cheapest way is by sugaring, you can buy some sugar wax pastes online if you're unable to get the consistency right the first time. Seconding the single blade-razor advice.
I recommend using a dry brush for exfoliation – I used to only exfoliate with italy towels in the shower, but after a dry brushing routine, skin got smoother.

I also find that ~10 minutes of direct sunlight can be effective with healing the PIE that are left over from KP. This isn't a ScA approved suggestion tho.

Hello! I’m glad your problem was resolved! 👏

Here’s my item: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00LIBEBTG/?coliid=I3RMPC6Z1ZBRIQ&colid=2GFMBI7CY32YF&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

It’s currently on sale (almost half price!) and I would love to get it as a gift for my girlfriend! She’s having skin problems that are only getting worse and this brush was recommended to help with the issues. Either way, thank you for your consideration and for this contest! 💜
