I like to use this. I just rinse it off after each use and then hang it to dry and that one is really good bc it comes with replacement pads. Obviously, it helps if you can use it with a mirror imo, that's the way I do it and it really works well. Some people have complained about slinging product off of it when they try to get it on their backs etc. But the trick is anyway even if I'm using some exfoliant/acid product that is super liquidy- I mix it with some moisturizer and it works like a charm. Also spread it around on the applicator so it's not just a big pile of goop and then you up the odds your distribution of skin care goop on the back of your body is going to be uniform and pleasant.

I got a decent scalp scrubber that’s made a big difference in removing buildup before it can get itchy. I also use a shampoo with tea tree oil.

I gave up and bought a back brush.

I’ve also been having the same issue but more so on my armpits. I just recently purchased this on amazon and have found it to be really useful. I’ve noticed a difference.

I also purchased a lightening cream to see if that would help with the dark spots and it definitely has.

Try a dry body brush. It has been helping me. I get the same thing. Do you have curly hair (on your head)? I do and wonder if people with curly hair are more prone to it.

I have been using the Salux cloth in the shower for several years. But recently I started dry brushing before showering as well, and that noticeably silkened my skin. I got the earth theraputics palm brush

You'll want to use ingrow go basically every day (morning and night) for 1-2 weeks to get rid of the layer of skin trapping the hair. After that, you can stop using it and focus on preventive measures. Exfoliating and lotioning should be enough to release the skin after that since it will only be a thin layer over the hair (if any) instead of the thick layer you were dealing with before.

My legs were really bad so I'd wait a few weeks after then do a treatment again to strip and free the hair that wasn't removed the first time then go back to moisturizing and exfoliating. If you use it too often and dry out your skin too much (which I was guilty of), you're going to run into a lot of the same problems with hair getting trapped.

I've heard good things about tend skin and exfoliating brushes for future prevention but honestly just exfoliating, lotioning, and taking the precautions mentioned above when removing hair makes a huge difference.

I find your advice with being comfortable with your genital region very important. Even shaving in the anal region well I sit in good lighting and put a towel under me get out the shaving cream and use a razor. It's the only way to get everything if you are worried about it. You notice you miss a lot generally in the shower to be hairless. Also around the anus go with the the grain of the skin not the opposite direction.

If anyone here doesn't want to wax...
I use an electric razor, this one. Cheap and effective.

I use it for the pubic patch area (courser hair) and I never get ingrown hairs and razor shave the rest of the crotch area and the bikini line. Another good thing if you use this razor on the patch area just buy a dry brush like this

You can make the tiny hairs under the skin come out before shaving and you are smooth. You don't even have to shower first to get a smooth shave. I usually wait 2 days maybe 3 to do it again.
Also I never wear underwear unless I'm on my period. This helps a lot with ingrorowns. I never have any.

Would love to try waxing though. Just hate letting it grow out that much.

Personally I like my body hair so I don't shave at all, but if I did it would go...

Before shower - Dry brush (https://www.amazon.com/Dry-Skin-Body-Brush-Circulation/dp/B00LIBEBTG)

During shower - Shave with some shaving cream or oil, then soap up and rinse

Right out of the shower - Apply lotion to damp skin, put on some comfortable clothes and let yourself soak it up

When I got my back done, I used a back loofa, like this one on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Back-Lotion-Applicator-Vive-Application/dp/B01LBM0K28/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1502393987&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=back+lotion+applicator&psc=1

I could apply my usual tattoo cream using this, and let it heal just like any other ink. Hope this helps.

u/roland00 · 3 pointsr/ADHD

I have seen numbers from 1 in 6 to 1 in 3 depends on the definition of anxiety disorders.

----

You need to see a doctor, and get some form of medication to help. There are many types of medications they can prescribe to help with anxiety. What works best is dependent on how the anxiety manifests (is it general, is it trigger induced, is it caused by the uncertainty, or how much your life is wearing you down, or a combination, etc)

And while they have many form of anti anxiety meds one of them that is often given to ADHD people is the Alpha 2a Agonist meds. There are a couple of these Alpha 2 drugs they have many traits including treating high blood pressure medicine, anti-anxiety meds, and they help with the ADHD and the working memory. The two big ones are Intuniv which has less sedative effects and Kapvay which has more sedative effects. I have no clue what will work best with you or even if you should do alpha 2 agonists instead of beta blockers, benzos (tranquilizers), anti depressants, etc.

The reason why you need to get this looked at (and it is various serious if you are having panic attacks) is it makes your ADHD worse and it destroys your quality of life.

---

I personally am on propranolol (beta blocker) for anxiety it works great and has ended my panic attacks and I haven't had one for months. That said we been messing with my vyvanse dose increasing it and while I am not anxious and definitely do not have high pulse like I used to my working memory has gone down recently so I am bringing it up with my psych the next time I see him.

Do you have any idea how awesome it was to stop having panic attacks?

  • And you need to do other anti stress techniques, not just meds, meds is just one of the easier ones to start if you get what I am saying. Me a hot bath and massage help a lot. I also have a hard brush like this link having that rub your skin and provide sensory sensation first feels good, second it helps your muscles untense and helps the blood flow.
u/aidrocsid · 3 pointsr/OneY

For me? Any. For you? Whatever makes you comfortable. I used to be quite hairy and started shaving off all my body hair a couple of months ago. I keep fucking up my chest and thighs so I'm probably going to switch to wax for those, but aside from discomfort from shaving complications it feels a lot better. I'm less hot, water and wind feel amazing on my hands and arms, and all the soft things have become about 30 times softer. Comparatively hairless skin feels really different and I find it a lot more comfortable. No more "Wtf is that feeling on my leg? Oh, it's just a small forest."

If you do decide to shave body hair, here are some tips I wish I'd had right from the beginning.

  • Use a different razor than you use on your face. Not necessarily a different type, unless you're using some disposable two-blade garbage. I've been told to try a safety razor, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
  • Get an exfoliating brush. Rub in a circle both clockwise and counterclockwise and you'll wear down the sharp edges of your probably rather coarse hairs.
  • Get an exfoliating scrub. I use this. It's great.
  • Cold water on your skin immediately after shaving will tighten it up and make razor burn and ingrown hairs less likely.

Shaving is kind of a pain in the ass, though. Waxing is expensive as fuck but less maintenance. I'm definitely looking in that direction.
You mention being concerned about shoulder hair. I find that's actually one of the easiest areas to shave without problems, as it's pretty flat. Hard to see, though.
u/HideNSqueak · 3 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Paula's choice sells a spray-on BHA product that may be easier for you to use on your back. It isn't the type of bottle that sprays well upside down, but it is a good pH and alcohol free if you can use it.

If that doesn't work, you may be able to find a plain spray bottle that works upside down, and fill it with a liquid BHA like Paula's Choice 2% BHA liquid, or CosRx's BHA power liquid.

And if both of those don't work for you, you might could use a roll-on lotion applicator stick with a cream or gel type product.

u/MalortMistress · 2 pointsr/xxfitness

I didn't see these mentioned in my scan! I use this instead of a wash cloth or loofa as it dries off quickly.

A big thing that sped it up for me was a "shower" bag and an "other" bag. Both were just different sized diaper bags, which are essentially cheaper wet/dry bags. The shower bag had my change of clothes, and all toiletries I needed IN the shower. The other bag had everything I needed post-shower (makeup, hair products, etc). That way when I grabbed the shower bag I KNEW it contained everything I was going to need.

Are you exfoliating? Dead skin cells can prevent hairs from getting out. You can use a washcloth or exfoliating gloves or a body brush. You should be exfoliating at least a few times a week if not every day. You should also think about getting an epilator, it's less painful than tweezing, quicker, and less likely to break hairs rather than fully remove them.

u/Wilksdog · 2 pointsr/irezumi

For those who can't dislocate their shoulders, try a reachy brushy thingy. That's the technical term.

i've just recently started dry brushing (recent as in last week) and so far, i haven't noticed any major difference but i am enjoying it. agree with drunk_dreams, the tingly sensation from the light scrub is really nice and it has made my skin feel smoother/softer. i bought this brush, it's an add-on item so that's a bit of a pain but for < $8, the price was great compared to some other brushes i was seeing that were upwards of $20.

u/oberbernou · 2 pointsr/keto

Step 1) Drink lots of water, stop smoking if you haven't already, make sure you are eating enough healthy fats, from fish, Omega 3s, nuts etc.

Step 2)Body Brush yourself in the morning before taking a shower, towards the heart. Start with your legs (I do thighs and butt), continue with your abdomen and then your arms/shoulders. Always towards the center of your body. You will clear off dead skin cells, wake up your skin, and encourage skin growth/repair.

Step 3)Cold Showers or if not cold, then at least not hot, but warm. Hot showers will dry your skin out, making it inelastic.

Step 4)Moisturize.

A large part of it is genetics and age. BUT, regular maintenance and self-love can do wonders. The question is, do you love yourself enough to keep regular?

u/awkwardbabyseal · 2 pointsr/askwomenadvice

I recommend a natural material scrub brush - like a bamboo brush or an exfoliating sponge.

Super dooper

Hello! My week has been a little frustrating. I went to the dentist tonight because I had really bad jaw pain. Thought I had a cavity in my tooth but I didn’t. Instead I apparently have super bad TMJ in my jaw joint so that’s great. The thing I’d like from my list if I win is the Yerba Prima Skin Brush. I heard dry brushing your skin is supposed to be good for it. It also looks relaxing so I’d like to give it a try!

Basically it's a rough bristle brush that you run over your body. It helps remove dead skin and it's ideal to give yourself a good scratch.

u/Ezmchill · 1 pointr/xxfitness

Sure! I'm using this one you can just search body brush on amazon too and there's many!

I massage my legs with it during shower and then follow up with loofa and little body scrub. It seemed to have eliminated most ingrown hairs as long as I use it daily

u/MellySandra · 1 pointr/ChronicPain

this is the one I use! I swear by it. You can either put it in the top of it and the balls distribute it, or on the outside and roll it on if you don't want your gel to lose its potency.

u/xnastasia · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

If waxing helps, look into DIY waxing. The cheapest way is by sugaring, you can buy some sugar wax pastes online if you're unable to get the consistency right the first time. Seconding the single blade-razor advice.
I recommend using a dry brush for exfoliation – I used to only exfoliate with italy towels in the shower, but after a dry brushing routine, skin got smoother.

I also find that ~10 minutes of direct sunlight can be effective with healing the PIE that are left over from KP. This isn't a ScA approved suggestion tho.

u/Chexytime · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I'd really like this back scrubber!

u/I_DR_NOW · 1 pointr/SkincareAddicts

I use a wet/dry one. I pasted the link below for the one I purchased. I noticed much better results using it on wet skin, especially in the shower. I use a tiny bit of soap with it and rub it in small circles for ~30 seconds and move to the next area. I have this issue on my arms, legs, and upper thigh. My arms are noticeably smoother now with less bumps. My legs have less red dots but I think they may take longer since they’re worse than my arms.

u/JinkiesGang · 1 pointr/AskWomen

I get waxed every 4 weeks. I use the European wax centers (I know...) ingrown serum https://www.waxcenter.com/strut-smoothly. I could probably find something cheaper, I’m sure. I exfoliate with this stuff https://www.ulta.com/microdelivery-exfoliating-facial-wash?productId=xlsImpprod15641100 (it’s always on sale around Xmas). I also use this brush to help in the shower with lots of soap https://www.amazon.com/Exfoliating-Brush-Treat-Prevent-Ingrown/dp/B073P2F926/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=Ingrown+hair+brush&qid=1563367489&s=gateway&sr=8-3. I rarely get ingrown hairs and I have very dark, very thick, curly hair. Someone with finer hair may not have to do all that, it’s what works for me.

u/Dr-Not-a-Milkman · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

After I saw this I looked up lotion applicators on Amazon cause I didn't know they were a thing and I found this. It says you can put massage oils in it, so perhaps it would be good for liquid treatments? It's a best seller!

u/Samantha_I_Am · 1 pointr/BabyBumps

Same here. I've noticed that the key is consistency. When I skip a day everything goes to hell. Even with my routine my skin isn't as good as it was before pregnancy, but I find it helps a lot. As with anything, make sure all of this is okay with your doctor. I find that opinions vary across the internet and even across doctors. This is my current routine:

Morning:

  • Splash face with water,
  • Paula's Choice BHA (this is salicylic acid, which my doctor says is fine during pregnancy but some disagree)
  • Moisturize with Cerave PM moisturizer and The Ordinary rosehip seed oil (mixed)

    Before bed:

  • Remove makeup with Farmacy Green Clean balm
  • Wash face with Cerave moisturizing face wash
  • Moisturize with Cerave PM moisturizer and The Ordinary rosehip seed oil (mixed)

    Every few days:

  • Use sulfur face mask (leave on for about 20-30 minutes). I use the Proactiv mask.
  • Sometimes I will also use a Zinc pyrithione on my forehead because I tend to get fungal breakouts there. You can find the soap on amazon or just use head and shoulders shampoo.

    For the body:

  • Make sure to exfoliate! I find a good physical exfoliation, especially on my back, works best. I've seen the best results with this brush and some good old bar soap.
  • Edit to add: Don't re-use bras if you can help it. Get a few cheap, comfy sleeping bras that don't cover much and let your skin breathe at night. Wash after 1-2 uses.
u/ArtichokeOwl · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

I use a little bit of benzoyl peroxide foaming face wash (the one that I use is the Rite Aid brand) on a bath brush like this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Ecotools-Bamboo-Bristle-Bath-Brush/dp/B0020HEBX8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398090871&sr=8-1&keywords=bamboo+back+brush

Every few weeks I also wash the back brush with a little bit of rubbing alcohol and let it completely Airdry. After each use I also hang it up to allow it to air dry.

When it comes time to get rid of the stretch marks and reduce the belly sag... get one of these and brush upwards on the stomach for a few minutes every day. I tried all the oils, nothing would get rid of them! I've seen a huge improvement from the body brush though.

Bodywash, good sir? I say this tomfoolery has gone on long enough. In days of yore men cleaned themselves with a bar of soap and a scrub brush. That said, I would recommend this brush, or for those who are looking to buy it for life Kent offers a handsome option.

Posted this in main sub but will leave this here, as well:

For the above mentioned products that helped me from AHAVA - wanted to share their current sale and my refferal link. AHAVA is a company that is from Israel and uses Dead Sea salts and mud in their products. I have tried their Clineral Psoriasis body cream , Psoriasis shampoo, Scalp mask and liquid Dead Sea salt . Also tried their dead sea bath salts but it's not the best value, you can get Minera Dead Sea Salts for much less on Amazon.

My experience:
The body cream has soothed plaques within a few days of using twice a day, morning and evening after dry brushing my skin with this Yerba Prima brush. I would use Everyday Shea lavender lotion and argan oil and within 3-4 hours I would have dryness and flaking but the cream really packs in hydration and lasts until evening.

Shampoo and scalp mask have also lessened the flakes and redness of my scalp and ear area. The shampoo doesn't lather, but it softens scalp and has no synthetic fragrance.

I use the liquid dead sea salt before the bath and wait for it to dry. It will sting, especially on first few applications but it's great at protecting your wounds from becoming infected, and will lessen the thickness of plaques.

I don't work for them and haven't even received free samples, but it's helped me so much and today's their last day of buy 1 get 1 free sale with code SUNKISSED

Here's my referral link for a further discount: https://www.ahava.com/rewardsref/index/refer/id/68177

Really hope ya'll don't mark this as spam because I've seen lots of improvement just in the few weeks I've been using the products. It's not a cure all! Just lessens itchiness and redness.

Tend Skin + a gentle exfoliating brush . Use the exfoliator during or after your shower very gently in circular motions for 15 seconds or so. After your shower and after your face and neck are completely dry (not just towel dry), slap on some of the Tend Skin. It stinks but as long as your skin is dry before you apply, the smell dissipates. It also can sting a little for a few seconds if you just shaved. Personally I use Tend Skin after each shower to avoid ingrowns, not just after I shave.

There are these sponges on a stick, kind of like a loofa. They are used to apply lotion to the back or hard to reach areas if you have limited range of motion. They can be found at most stores such as a Walmart or on amazon. They can be handy for situations like this. You just have to keep them clean and be sure not to press to hard during the application process.
