The second one: Eeeee Eee Eeee, the novel by Tao Lin

When I searched for a particularly popular model of laptop on Amazon, I came across a book with a very unusual title.

Definitely Eeeee Eee Eeee by Tao Lin. Best book about a guy experiencing loneliness in the modern world, hands down. The main character has no one to connect with or talk to, so most of the key scenes in the book don't involve any other characters.

Not sure exactly what you mean by "alone," but you may also want to check out some books by William T. Vollmann--perhaps Butterfly Stories might be a good one to start with. One of Vollmann's favorite themes is people who are hopelessly in love in ways that can't possibly end well (i.e. books about people who are alone but wish they weren't).

I've read his biography. It's okay.

A recent book I really loved, though I suspect it's not for everyone, is Eeeee Eee Eeee by Tao Lin. He's written mostly poetry, and this book flows like no novel I've read, without any solid plot or purpose, but it was absolutely stimulating and engrossing.

An article on Thought Catalog, by the author of this book.
