Well it all depends on the specs you need and what graphics card you've got. Here are some things you'll probably want: ~32", >10bit, wide-gamut and lots of I/O.

What you're looking for is as high a % DCI-P3 wide gamut as you can get which is what Apple has been updating most of their devices to recently (they're at 99% dci-p3).
Those monitors (esp at 4k / 5k res) are expensive af, but them's the breaks if you want the good stuff. A BENQ at 1440p with 96% dci-p3 is $900. Conversely, if you want to save money, you can just change settings on your iMac to sRGB or Adobe RGB and just do the same to the ultrasharp. Sure, you'll lose the vibrancy and the deep blacks, but at least they'll look the same.
