Neither, since you ask: you'll want to install a bunch of mods for either of those games (Morrowind because the graphics are dated, Oblivion because parts of the gameplay are broken) and that will probably mean you'll screw up and have to do a clean install a few times. Re-downloading them could be a pain in the ass, and that's what you have to do for a clean install in Steam (judging from other comments, D2D is even worse).

Amazon: Morrowind on 1 CD

Amazon: Oblivion on 1 DVD

Yes, I really do still buy optical disks for new releases, at least the ones that seem to have a high likelihood of my wanting to mod them at some point in the future. Get off my lawn.

EDIT: Yes, this is definitely the right subreddit for your question! Unless you wanted your answer in the form of an "advice animal".

You can get it for $9.50 through Amazon. If you want the GotY edition with expansions, eBay has it for $16.

But if you want it for $5, your best bet is probably a Steam sale.

As far as I know, the only place to download it is on Steam. But Steam is free and typically cheaper than Gamestop -- why don't you have it?

Anyway, you can get a physical of it for pretty cheap on Half.com or Amazon. You could also try /r/gameswap if you are willing to part with something.
