I've given up on Logitech.

I now have three of these Elecom trackballs.

There's a wireless version as well, but... Meh.

I'm in the same boat. I've always been exclusively a gaming mouse user, currently a Logitech G700s. I finally just decided to go for it and ordered the trackball that seemed the closest to a gaming mouse. I purchased the Elecom M-XT1URBK (But mine is wireless) and it should be here in a few days.

I can follow up with you after it gets here, I'm expecting a learning curve but trackballs have always intrigued me.

Just found this Elcom Optical

Switchable DPI and a snipe button (third click, but still!)? This looks like a gaming trackball... I will have to get a hold of this and test it out... Thanks zyxxiforr for the tip!!

What I'm using now. I went from an M570 to this. I've had it about half a year now, no qualms. I loved the M570 but it simply didn't last for me. The only problem with the Elecom is that it doesn't track the stock trackball well. It's best to swap it with the blue Logitech ball. Overall, the Elecom feels better built and the switches are very responsive.

They don't click like the steam controller but I like both. This is the mouse I have:

The reviews on this are pretty good, and I may pick one up with my next paycheck.

That said, I still prefer my Razr Death Adder vs my M570 for FPS gaming. It gives you just that much of an edge, which you need if you're a huge try-hard like myself.

They tend to be kind of tough to find. I use an Elecom thumb trackball that I imported from Japan. It has a couple extra buttons that can be reprogrammed, and a physical switch you can use to adjust the dpi in addition to software.

The much more common Logitech one has programmable buttons, but no DPI adjustment. It
is probably the easiest one to find though, and most people that use an Elecom actually replace its stock black ball with the blue Logitech one anyway, since it has better tracking with it.

If you're interested in a trackball that is operated with your other fingers rather than your thumb, something like these from the trackball subreddit, then you'd have to ask someone over at /r/trackballs because I know very little about them.
